We took the American Flag out of our front window today!!!!!

On September 13th, 2001 the Kansas City Star sent out, with every newspaper, a plastic American Flag as a unity message because of the 9/11 attacks.

My wife and I put it in the window above our front door, and later, once the country knew that 9/11 was caused by Bin Laden, we said we would remove it the day we caught Osama Bin Laden.

That card board flag has been there every since. My three kids have grown and the flag has faded badly in the sun, but you can still tell it is a flag. And you can still read the back that says "These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve" - George W. Bush

This afternoon we removed it from the window! That plastic flag was a daily reminder of the 9/11 attacks. And now it will go into the family scrapbook.

Congratulations President Obama, the CIA and the United States Military! I have never been so happy to remove a displayed flag!
