This Facebook Post bothered me today
I had to respond to her after seeing this:

Just to make it very clear... Obama did not kill Osama... it was OUR "US Soldiers" who have been fighting for Us from day 1.. and I refuse to listen to anyone give Obama the credit for something our men and women of the Military put their lives on the line to accomplish!! Mission Accomplished by our SOLDIERS!!!!!!!! Repost if you Agree!!!

Another "friend" posted:

AGREE , and if anyone deserved to give the announcement it was Bush

So I responded:

Why?? It took President Obama less time to get Osama Bin Laden. And yes it was our troops under the direction of the President. In 2002 Bush could care less about Osama. His words.
President Bush 2002 - Who knows if he's hiding in some cave or not ... I don't know where he is. Nor do I -- you know, I just don't spend that much time on him to be honest with you.

These were the same 2 girls who were upset that President Obama went golfing after the tsunami/earthquake in Japan (still couldn't find anything about it). Yet they still praise Bush. You have got to be kidding me. I hate getting into politics on there because some of the "friends" from High School have now become so racist and fundie.

1. I 'defriended' a former HS classmate who posted crap like that today.
I told her I had enough of her stupidity and deleted her.

My patience has run out with those people.

3. Yet if something bad had occurred, you can bet Obama would get the blame.
That's what it is to be POTUS. Get blamed for everything. Get credit for nothing.

4. If you feel like responding again
- and I know it's probably pointless because some people won't change their minds no matter what - but if you do, The Washington Monthly has a couple more points. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/ Scroll down to the section on Eric Cantor:

In July 2006, we learned that the Bush administration closed its unit that had been hunting bin Laden.

In September 2006, Bush told Fred Barnes, one of his most sycophantic media allies, that an "emphasis on bin Laden doesn't fit with the administration's strategy for combating terrorism."

Bush's failed strategy that allowed bin Laden to escape from Tora Bora.

8. That's really interesting. OBL purportedly starting building his mansion/complex in 2005
Obviously a permanent "home" for him and his family. And Bush stops hunting him in July 2006. I'd be very curious when OBL's complex was finished.

Could be nothing more than coincidence... right? But a very weird one to say the least.

7. And yet in 2004 all Republicans could crow was "Only Bush can protect us!"
Don't remember their cry, "Only the troops can protect us."

11. And after Giffords was shot in AZ, baggers said only guns can protect us. Yet the killer was...
Disarmed by two unarmed senior citizens. Their logic is off as usual.

16. Not only that, there was a concealed carry person there
who didn't use his gun because he couldn't tell who the shooter was. He said had he drawn he would have shot the man holding the gun -- the man who had wrestled the gun out of the shooter's hands. Good decision on the part of the CC person -- puts a lie to the statement "It would have been different if someone had had a gun available."

9. Direct from my wall...(the person was an old neighbor)
A HUGE THANK YOU to our military, who have sacrificed, died, suffered, and worked hard, to fight people like Osama Bin Laden. YOU are the ones we thank. YOU are the ones who deserve ALL CREDIT. Thank a soldier for bringing due justice for those lost on 9/11 and all the victims around the world who suffered from his commands. Copy and paste if you agree...

15. I saw both of those this morning.
These people are really stuck in the FOX NOT NEWS bubble. Isn't the Commander-in-Chief, the head of the military? Even if he's bl-bl-bl-black.
