Storm survivors turn to faith and feds
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42854451/ns/weather/

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Southerners turning to their faith to make sense of the devastation left behind by the second deadliest tornado outbreak in U.S. history also will be counting on the federal government for help, which Obama Cabinet members assured would come quickly.

"To some people it might sound cold, but God does have a plan," Blevins said. "I know I sound like one of those Southern Baptists, but I am."

1. Yeah, "god" has a plan -- a plan to screw you over.
“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?”

4. The difference between god and satan
Satan punishes the wicked. God punishes the good.

5. Well, we'll never convince each other.
You're free to believe in gods and devils, and I'm free to not buy any of it. Peace.

8. Wait, what?
"Clever"? No, I'm just saying I don't believe god and the devil exist. It's a pretty common view, actually.

If you do believe in Satan, I guess it follows that the god you believe in is not omnipotent, if Satan can overpower him.

To me, it all sounds ridiculous.

But, whatever. No two humans think alike.

9. You must not spend much time around other atheists.
If you don't recognize an atheist post when you see one.

10. Okay, sorry. I thought you were serious.
I do run into people who really believe in things like The Devil.

2. "also will be counting on the federal government for help" I'm sure the teabaggers will do the
right thing, and politely refuse the help.....right?

The other day I saw an episode of West Wing where President Bartlett is debating the gov of some conservative state. He talked about the federal money that state got.. money from other states, essentially. "You got this much for this, you got that much for that...."

"We want our money back."

3. So they prefer to think that God did it rather than global warming.
And because THEY need help now suddenly church and state are two different entities.

11. So in Alabam it's God's mysterious ways,
and in Louisiana it God's vengeance. Does somebody have a program? I'm having a hard time keeping up.
