AP: "White House officials...mulling the merits and appropriateness of releasing a photo."
Edited on Mon May-02-11 12:36 PM by ClarkUSA
An elite crews of American forces killed bin Laden during a daring raid on Monday. Bin Laden was shot in the head during a firefight and then quickly buried at sea. White House officials were mulling the merits and appropriateness of releasing a photo.

<snip>

Senior administration officials said the DNA testing alone offered near 100 percent certainty that bin Laden was in fact shot dead. Detailed photo analysis by the CIA, confirmation by a woman believed to be bin Laden's wife on site, and matching physical features like bin Laden's height all helped confirmed the identification.

It's typical of President Obama's cultural and sociopolitical sensitivity that he doesn't want to offend the Middle East by immediately plastering the CIA's "detailed photo analysis" all over the front pages of newspapers across the world in order to satisfy the crazy deathers who now doubt Osama's death in the same way nutcase birthers doubt Obama's birthplace. I'm glad that I have a President who's not interested in gloating or inflaming Middle East sensibilities by releasing gruesome and distasteful photos of a dead, brain-splattered Osama like President Bush did right after Saddam's sons were killed by US troops.

2. Well, I don't need to see a photo, but I'm sure some either need to
or want to see the grisly evidence. I have no problem with the current evidence, but I suppose they'll end up releasing the photo. I'd just as soon not view it, though.

5. Just bring in the Congressional leaders then hold a joint press conference
Edited on Mon May-02-11 12:39 PM by JCMach1
and release the test results to the press... That should cover it. No pics needed.

6. I'd be surprised if Congressional leaders have not seen the visual evidence by now.
Not sure that a joint press conference is needed. The total silence coming from Al-Qaida since this happened is enough.
