I have absolutely no worries about the GOP spin.
When it comes to politics, people appreciate results more than just about anything else.

Bush talked about 'em. Obama got 'em. End of story.

1. They have nothing to spin.
They will try, but it isn't as if Obama got the job done immediately after becoming president, where they could try to say all the groundwork was done by Bush.

This is clearly Obama's day in the sun, and they can't spin that away.

They bring the racism but then say Obama played the race card. They spin anything and everything and by God they are spinning this. Bush gets the credit don't cha know,

5. They can try, and they will try, but most Americans know better.
let them have their fun in their dark, gloomy corner of the world.

2. I was watching scenes of people celebrating in the streets ...
people were wearing Obama t-shirts proudly and one person made a sign:

Obama: 1
Osama: 0

Any "spin" from them will be perceived as that ... SPIN.

4. I don't ever say this about anything...
but here goes...."this will backfire on them."

I think people, especially on DU are far too quick to say that, and it almost is never true.

But this will. It's too clear cut. American's enemy #1 was captured, on direct orders by President Obama. That is what most people will hear that is what they heard last night and that's what it will be.

When people, of the independent, even politically clueless variety start hearing Republicans saying it was Bush or even worse insulting Obama over this they will be turned off by that. No doubt about it.

I'm not saying this whole thing will have any major, long lasting impact one way or another beyond burnishing Obama's foreign policy/anti-terror credentials going into 2012. But int he short term the non partisan, not overtly political people will be turned off by them politicizing it.
