1. And probably also means that
The Repukes are going to get crazier and crazier until they are gibbering on a street corner throwing poop. Granted many of them are not far off from their now.

2. Unless they nuke us because of this...
or a dirty bomb or a chemical/biological attack, or a conventional attack. We're opening a can of worms. It's like us launching a nuclear attack on someone. Events have become non-linear. Anything could happen now.

8. What about the can of worms opened when we invaded Afghanistan
and Iraq...

Seriously, I don't think killing a symbolic figure is going to incite more violence against us.

22. Yep! That can was opened a long time ago. If al Qaeda could
attack us again, they would have done so by now. They have certainly tried.

The wingers will claim credit somehow, someway and Fox will spread it "liberally."

4. G.H.W. Bush was at 90%
After he "liberated" Kuwait. I don't think it guarantees anything. But it sure doesn't hurt.

5. It's gonna be tough for the Regressive Party to spin this one, that's for sure.
How do you say that offing Osama was a bad thing?

I fully expect them to try, however. I expect to hear a lot of "well he just popped the top off a jar that was already loosened" out of the mouths of the spin doctors.

6. If there is even one attack, then all the benefit goes away.
And Obama will be criticized for the attack. And it can happen just about anywhere where there are civilians. So, in other words, it's bound to happen.

11. If you havent noticed, our corporate overlords havent even attempted a challange for the President.
They will continue to screw him via their puppets in Congress and in 2016 they will run Jeb Bush as the decent guy you would want to have a beer with. Jeb "the smart son" Bush will be the savior of the wacked out Republican Party.

the same way the unhappiness of the 1970s defeated Ford and Carter.

15. well, I think he's going to win, but the election is a long way off and a lot can still happen
papa bush's approval ratings were at 89% around February or March of '91, and he lost in '92.

18. We'll see.
I think Obama was going to win anyway, if just because of the crazy crop of GOP candidates.

I actually don't think killing Osama is that big a deal, though it is certainly satisfying. When was the last time Osama, or even Al Qaeda, was in the news? Or any of us thought about him? I don't think terrorism has been the top concern of Americans since the economy collapsed in 2008.
