What do you all know about "Free Speech TV" and Thom Hartmann? Never seen him before...

I just turned on the TV and the Thom Hartmann Show is on "Free Speech TV". He has had some interesting callers. I've never seen the show before and don't know anything about him--in fact, I don't think I've ever been on this channel before.

I'm so leary of TV anymore that I figured I'd ask if you all are familiar with him.

(hmmmm...but question number two I'm listening to now is a little bit odd....dangit...did I get suckered in by talk radio?)

And I've never seen or heard his show(s). But don't ever admit that on DU, because people will mock you and laugh at you and you'll feel humiliated :) Seriously, DUers generally love the guy.

I love FSTV, though. I don't get to watch it as much as I'd like, but it's one of the reasons I went with Dish. Current TV, which Olbermann will be on in June, has also been a favorite for years now.

He enjoys Science and gives his opposition plenty of air time (too much if you ask me).

I've listened to him ever since his Air America days and find him very informative AND educational.

9. Free Speech TV is wonderful....

I have Comcast and they do not provide FSTV. The only time I can see FSTV is when I go to a friends house who has Dish Network. I would consider getting satellite for FSTV but I dont want to get bogged down with a contract.

23. Heavens.. Good to get to know Thom Hartman

He has had a progressive radio show for many many years. He's brilliant. Amazingly well read and an author of 21 books on everything from the JFK assassination to ADHD (several books) to the history of the constitution. He also posts videos frequently on DU.

Check out his website: http://www.thomhartmann.com/ and maybe tune into his radio show as well in the future. For years, he has had a regular Friday segment with Senator Bernie Sanders, which is always well received.

50. This thread really puzzled me, so I reviewed some recent Thom Hartmann podcasts:

I refer all of you to the first half-hour of Thom's 4/28 radio show in which he discusses Sock Puppets.

Especially interesting was a reference that Thom made to how third parties hire street people to interact in the public discourse in certain ways that support third party goals.

Maybe that sort of thing is necessary when some are incapable of delivering anything on certain issues honestly . . . Maybe not. I just feel compelled to observe once again what a SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY is and how almost universally common and powerful they are. We say/think "____________ is _____________." We act in a manner consistent with that presumption and by golly, guess what? ___________________ becomes _________________. If this is possible, if such things happen, I cannot imagine why anyone who use the poor/homeless in such a manner, so I'm speaking out against that possibility here.
