My Apology for Inappropriate Humor

My post about Penn State jokes was intended as a continuation of an earlier post in GD about the shaming of Penn State itself. In that earlier post I said that the Penn State "story" is about the actions of a few employees of the university and that it's inappropriate to blame the entire campus community. I used as an example something I'd seen elsewhere on the Internat, "Pedo State."

Earlier today I gave some additional examples of jokes circulating on the Internet. I did not intend to disrupt DU with inappropriate humor, but that interpretation was put on it. I certainly apologize for this. I should have made it clear that Penn State jokes are unfair but they are inevitable. In a follow-up comment I wrote, "There is never a tragedy so great that there won't be water cooler jokes told about it."
