My thread locked, her thread, not locked and that non locking was defended here not once but twice by Skinner himself. I fail to see any real difference between either the tone or the content of these threads.

1. For one thing, your title refers to a specific DUer, and he did not appreciate being called out.

In addition, he moderator who locked it gave an explanation.

"First, he does something that his supporters here might learn from. He doesn't pretend that he, and only he, is responsible for everything good that has happened for gays in the history of the universe...."

As far as I'm aware, no one here on DU or elsewhere has suggested that President Obama, and only President Obama, is responsible for everything good that has happened for gays in the history of the universe.

One more thing: vaberalla's thread has been discussed many times here in the ATA forum. I get it: you disagree with the call the moderators made on that one. You know what? That's gonna happen sometimes. It even happens to me. I think it might be time to move on. There are 50 million+ posts on this site, deciding where to draw the line is not an exact science. It would be impossible to be completely consistent if only one person were making the decision on every post, but there are so many differing factors, from the tone and substance of the post itself, to the content of the alerts, to who happens to moderating that day, to how busy we are. You name it. We try the best we can, and I'm sorry to say that is the best anyone here is going to get as long as we are on DU2.

2. Are you seriously suggesting that my thread got locked because I thanked

a fellow DUer for providing the link by which I saw the video? Seriously? If that is the case, then rest assured I will never, not ever, thank a DUer for a link again. As to your second point, yes we have had DUers say exactly that, that Obama has done more than any person ever, living or dead, for gay rights. On edit; It should be noted my point was proven in that very thread. I was accused of not having praised the President for ending DADT, I then provided the thread where I did exactly that but since I dared thank others, including the many gay service people who helped bring that day about, it was called, and I quote, faint praise. How was it faint praise otherwise?

And yes, it was repeatedly alerted on. Care to tell me again about how no one on DU suggests that Obama has done more for gays than anyone living or dead. Really, want to lecture me about that again.

...is comparing President Obama to other U.S. Presidents. It is not comparing President Obama to anyone living or dead.
