i am computer illiterate. this may be hard to explain.
for years, i could read the front page, go into a thread and back out without the page refreshing. the last month, every time i go into a thread, the front page refreshes even when i am hitting back. is there something i can do from my end that will allow my pages not to refresh? or was something changed on your side?

i hope it is clear. i don't know any other way to explain it.

thanks.

1. Nothing has changed on our side
I'll take a wild stab in the dark here though -- do you use Internet Explorer, and did you recently update to Internet Explorer 9? If this is the case, it might be the cause of your problem. I did a bit of Googling and it appears that IE9 may reload pages automatically when you use the back button, which may not have been a feature in previous versions of the browser.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to prevent IE from doing this... so I'm afraid the only solution could be to downgrade to a previous version of IE or change your browser entirely.

3. There are other options you could consider
Firefox and Chrome are two other popular browsers. They are easy to install (and remove if you decide you don't like them). Installing either of them will not interfere with your Internet Explorer installation.

Alternatively, you can uninstall IE9 using the following instructions. According to Microsoft, uninstalling IE9 in this manner will automatically reinstall your previous version of IE on your computer:
