My posts disappear.

I've noticed some of my posts disappear. They show on the page after I post them but I navigate away from the site and return later and the posts are gone. Not removed, gone. No trace. Very interesting. Wouldn't expect this from this site but you never know anymore.

1. Possible explanation

If your posts are removed by a moderator, a "Deleted message" placeholder will appear in its place. In the past 30 days you have had five posts deleted, which have all been replaced with placeholders.

But: if you posted in a sub-thread which was subsequently deleted by the moderators, then no placeholders will remain. You are not penalized in any way if your posts were part of a sub-thread deletion, but those posts are essentially "disappeared." However, I believe they will still show up in your My Posts page and if you try to click through to them from there, you will get an error.
