2. The logistical problem is that...

...when a post has been deleted, there is no longer an "Alert" button to use, with which to communicate with the on-duty, appropriate Moderator, and there are in some cases 38 Moderators listed under "Moderators for This Forum", many of which are most likely not on duty.

When a post has been deleted, it may not be totally clear what the reason was. If it is suspected, for example, that there may have been a complaint of an inappropriate link, but this is not definitely known by the poster to be the reason, it seems it would be desirable to have a method whereby either a Moderator notifies the poster of the reason, or whereby the poster may contact the Moderator for clarification.

But since the "Alert" button for that post is no longer present (since the post has been deleted), it it problematic for the poster to contact the Moderator, so as to avoid future problems.

How is the best way to handle that?

3. It's hard to say what is the best way, for precisely the reason you describe.
You could pick one and send a question. Or you could post in here.

4. Thanks...The Moderators have a challenging job, and deserve our thanks.

(as do you, Skinner.)

It is not and easy task to keep this vital forum relevant, on task, and cordial.

Thank you.
