Romney faces what ought to be a tough question: when was the last time you had to scrimp and save for basic necessities?

He answers, “I didn’t grow up poor, and if people are looking for a President who comes from that background, then I’m not your guy. But I had a dad who grew up poor.” He goes on to say that his father’s experience of growing up poor brought him to make sure the children were brought up with the values of saving and decency.
