Bloomberg Makes the Case for His Experience

Though New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg regularly denies any interest in running for president, he certainly sounded like he was making the case at a speech last night, the New York Observer reports.

Said Bloomberg: "I have my own army in the NYPD, which is the seventh biggest army in the world. I have my own State Department, much to Foggy Bottom's annoyance. We have the United Nations in New York, and so we have an entree into the diplomatic world that Washington does not have."

He also highlighted his "outsider" credentials: "I don't listen to Washington very much, which is something they're not thrilled about. We have every kind of people from every part of the world and every kind of problem."

2. The Way He & Kelly Have Militarized NYC Is A Disgrace Not To Mention Scary
He has turned into a megalomaniac and the sooner we seek the back if this wannabee Napoleon the better.

3. Bloomberg / 1% / WTF
Crazy thought, but what if the 1%'ers are poised to have Bloomberg represent them?

"I have my own army in the NYPD, which is the seventh biggest army in the world." - I didn't know the PD was considered Army, and why would he assert this? I respect the blood and pus coming from my ears due to my ear infections right now more than I do Mr. Bloomberg. What a disgrace to our country to hold him as a leader.

The world is watching, and probably laughing at us right about now.

5. Could be unrecs for just the thought of him running, but
then again, the 'anyone but Obama' crowd hasn't piped up yet verbally, so I don't know. If people thought he'd be a viable option, I'd think they would be applauding this.

6. My Prediction
is that he, just like the other jackasses with a monumental ego who think they rule the earth, will finally go a step too far for the masses. He's made a lot of enemies and people are gunning for him.

7. It doesn't sound to me like he's "making a case"--it sounds like he is saying
that his fiefdom is sufficient for his purposes.
