Greg Sargent's answer to Republicans' 'Class Warfare' mantra re payroll tax extension
Punishing work
By Greg Sargent

I keep reading that asking the ultra-wealthy to pay a tiny percentage more of their income to reduce the deficit — which is supposedly a threat to civilization as we know it — constitutes waging “class war” on the rich and amounts to “punishing their success.”

Does that mean that those who are refusing to extend the payroll tax cut because it must somehow be paid for are waging class war on working people and are punishing their work?
