GOP group uses Clinton to attack Obama

By David Jackson, USA TODAY

<...>

The GOP-favoring ad -- which is running in the battleground states of Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania -- criticizes Obama for proposed tax hikes to finance his jobs bill, while replaying Clinton comments that it's a bad idea to raise taxes in a weak economy.

"President Obama has launched a tax attack on American jobs that hits Main Street businesses, home mortgages, and school and road repair funds," said Crossroads GPS president Steven Law.

"Former President Clinton and bipartisan majorities in Congress agree that Obama's tax hikes won't solve the problem," Law added. "The ad aims to get Obama to stop attacking and start listening."

<...>

American Crossroads and its affiliate Crossroads GPS were co-founded by Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie, a former George W. Bush aide and Republican chairman. Crossroads GPS is not required to disclose its donors.

On edit for the record, "bipartisan majorities" of Americans don't agree.

1. NBC attempted it again yesterday.
Clinton was on the Today show about his new book. I usually like Ann Curry, but she was obviously working from a script and hadn't read the book. She kept trying to get Clinton to complain about Obama. She erroniously said that the book attacked Obama's policies. Clinton stayed calm and said that this was exactly the problem with media. He pointed out that the book praised Obama and agreed with almost all of his policies but the only question he got was about how he disagreed with Obama. Then she started in - still on script - with the "Would Hillary have done a better job" stuff. Clinton looked disgusted. When that didn't work, she tried to get him to call republicans names. He had already pointed out that the problem with getting discussion in the media was that all they wanted was conflict to drive ratings.

People who get all their news from main stream media just don't have a clue. (Those that rely on talk radio and faux are too stupid to discuss).

2. We got the ad yesterday
It's a blatant lie and I hope it backfires on them big time. My boss and I both looked at the ad and said it's full of lies. We had to ask the GM if we should accept it or not. They really are desperate
