Politico: Sharon Bialek plans morning TV interviews
Sharon Bialek plans morning TV interviews
By MAGGIE HABERMAN

11/7/11 3:27 PM EST Updated: 11/7/11 4:15 PM EST

Herman Cain accuser Sharon Bialek plans "as of now" to appear on two morning television shows Tuesday, her lawyer, Gloria Allred, said.

Bialek's allegation that Cain made an aggressive and unwanted sexual advance in 1997 has reignited the week-old controversy over reports of Cain's personal misconduct. And every national interview Bialek — or Allred — gives will make this even more problematic for Cain's campaign.

22. QUESTION for YOU;
Edited on Tue Nov-08-11 11:54 AM by Cigar11
if you were accused (wrongfully) would you PAY to make the accuser go away or would you fight it, if you’re really innocent?

As for me, even if you gouged my eyes out with a Hot-Poker, I wouldn't fork over a single penny for someone extorting money from me. Of course if you’re not guilty you shouldn’t have a problem with that stance.

23. let me answer that in an obtuse way...
My family's company was sued 5 or 6 years ago for a product misuse allegation.

We KNEW that if it went to court and we described how far out of "normal product function and use" the allegation was... no jury would EVER settle in favor of the plaintiff.

Our insurance company settled out of court for 5 figures. I was enraged and asked the lead attorney "why"... he replied that by the time it gets to trial it will cost 2x as much money.

QUESTION for YOU:

Out of 1000 25-40 yo women working in the business world, how many would be willing to make up a sexual harassment charge if they knew the allegation alone might be worth 1 years wages?

3? 19? 120?

24. If It's As Easy As You Suggest For A Woman To Claim Sexual Harassment Why Don't More Women Do It?
Your argument reminds me of the bogus argument by medical malpractice insurance companies that the courts are flooded with frivolous medical malpractice suits when a peer reviewed study suggests that over ninety percent of the errors in hospitals go unreported:

http://www.myphillylawyerblog.com/2011/04/nearly-90-percent-of-medical-errors-go-unreported-by-hospitals-study-reports.shtml

I suspect unreported sexual harassment claims are high also.

25. I’m a Business Owner and you can bet down to the last penny I own,
Edited on Tue Nov-08-11 12:15 PM by Cigar11
... my personal integrity is worth far more than my business. I can and have started multiple business ventures, and I will fight to the bitter end to defend my good name, because it’s not for sale at any price.

Your mileage may vary.

So if ANY Woman wanted like to come after me with an wrongful accusation ... I would say bring it on!

12. of course not...
I'm just saying that I wish to know more about the situation. Who is to say that a Perry campaigner didn't research women that Cain "may" have come in normal contact with... and basically said "Are you SURE Mr. Cain never made an inappropriate gesture, and btw... if you say yes you will be flown around the nation for tv shows, have a shot at a magazine layout and stand to profit $50,000-200,000 according to our media consultants"

It's not trivializing sexual harassment. It's being boldly dubious of ANYTHING to come out of a political campaign.

17. How Did Rick Perry Convince The Two Women To File Claims Twelve Years Ago?
Did he know them both then and did he know that both him and Cain would be running for president one day.

It reminds me of the Birther's belief that Barack Obama was a Manichean candidate planted somewhere fifty years sgo to steal America.

20. I know I can't change your mind...
Edited on Tue Nov-08-11 11:46 AM by GSLevel9
but please listen. I know, for a fact... that celebrities and wealthy folk are OFTEN accused of sexual harassment. How about the back-up dancer accusing Britney Spears of sexual harassment? Take the 100 top executives/CEO's etc... in the nation and ask how many have had official or unofficial complaints of sexual harassment.

It IS COMMON.

In addition, let me add... MANY celebrity/wealthy men will NEVER even enter an elevator if the sole occupant of the elevator is a woman. They won't allow even an opportunity for a bogus allegation.

21. Who Should I Believe?
Herman Cain who has every incentive to lie or his four victims who don't know one another and have no incentive to lie.

27. ?
Huh?

Not sure how backwards-B faker girl comes into this....

Perhaps you misunderstood my comment? I was pointing out that Republicans will find it harder to dismiss a woman who comes from the most hardcore section of the GOP-- the Tea Party.

Even if Bialek is "faking" (which I don't think she is), she's accused a member of her own party, not the opposition as B-girl did.

10. Okay, that's kind of an asinine statement.
This woman volunteered to stand up in public and get shit flung at her because she thought people deserved to know something about a person running for President. Is that really the way you want to respond to her action?

19. Telling How
You mean it was telling how she represented six women who Arnold Schwarzenegger groped and then Arnold admitted it, attributing his aberrant behavior to Hollywood movie set hijinks.
