2. Wow, you are obsessed with this

Something like 12 posts on Cain and then this weird Mitt comment. Are you a Mitt fan or are you suggesting that anti-white
discrimination is at play?

Seeing you posted that you hang out at Free Republic, it seems that this Mitt comment might be better suited there?

4. "Anti-White Discrimination"
Edited on Thu Nov-03-11 11:26 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
"Hanging out at Free Republic"

"Something like 12 posts on Cain"

"Mitt fan"

That's a lot of ad hominems to fit into one sentence. Prayer, meditation, yoga, tai-chi, anything will help rid yourself of that animus.

The reason I believe Mitt Romney couldn't survive a scandal like this is because his support is a mile wide and an inch deep while Mr. Cain's support is a inch wide and a mile deep.

And if you don't think this brohaha is the topic du jour there is nothing I can do to disabuse you of that notion.

5. Pointing the finger at the messenger

Yes it's all over the place, but it's also true that you keep posting (12+ posts) about Cain and then made that comment
about Romney, or rather "Mitt". I was just curious. It's not like you're hiding your obsession, but seeing how defensive
you just got...

Attacking someone and then attacking that person again for defending themselves.

I notice I have several threads on a myriad of topics, some that have even made it to the Greatest Page.

Now, perhaps if you spent more time creating threads and less time attacking other members maybe you could contribute as well.

on edit- Well looky here:

Forty six recommendations. There's a lofty goal for you. And the irony is that I am praising President Obama for not engaging in the behavior you are accusing me of engaging in.

7. I have not attacked or accused you of anything

So defensive! I haven't been on DU a whole lot lately. I check the presidential section and there are 12 posts by the same person on the same topic ON ONE PAGE. Hard not to notice.
So curiosity got the best of me and I decided to ask about it. It's not like you were trying to hide your obsession.

So... instead of acknowledging these facts, YOU attack someone for venturing to ask about it. Something obviously motivates you to attack one (R) candidate. But don't worry about it,
my curiosity has waned as quickly as my interest in the Cain controversy. Little "Mitt" has come out looking better because of it (for the time being).

9. I Am Allegedly Obsessive Yet You Counted The Number Of Posts I Did By Subject
Edited on Thu Nov-03-11 12:25 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
I have been here for eight years and never saw the need to do that but I digress. You say you haven't attacked me but yet you accuse me of being a Mitt fan, someone who sees the world through a racial prism, and someone who hangs out at Free Republic. No. That's not an attack... Not at all...

The reason most of my recent posts have been about Herman Cain is because he is the Republican who is dominating the news now and not in a good way. I had just as much "fun" when David Vitter, Mark Foley, Ted Haggard and other conservatives were in the news for their misdeeds. The difference is I didn't have a fellow member counting my posts on those "gentlemen" and then attacking me for the quantity of said posts.

You seem to have developed some animus toward me. I'll be the bigger person and say I have no animus toward you.

KISSES
DSB

on edit- If I were to descend or ascend to your level ( I want to lift your self esteem ) I could infer you were a fan of Mitt since you take umbrage to my negative posts on Herman Cain up to counting them and commenting on the them but I won't.

11. Flip flopper or in denial?

You're accusing me of accusing YOU of things YOU actually SAID in numerous posts on one page (took all of a few seconds to count BTW). I have no animosity towards you.
I repeat- I was curious about your obsession with the Cain scandal because you posted about it sooo many times. Plain and simple.

Your defensive response sent a clear message that it is none of my business and no one should ask you about it. Of course it is the "big news" of the hour, but the number
of posts makes one wonder, that's all. Plain and simple. I counted the posts on ONE PAGE because I was asking you about it.

Again, I think ALL of the repugs running for president are idiots and when compared to Obama, they look even worse than that.

And BTW, sarcasm does not equal being clever. Not at all. You flip flop all over the place. You sign off with kisses, then add that turning the tables crap afterwards.

Like I said, I'm not really interested in your obsession anymore or in this ridiculous back and forth. Take care.

8. Actually you used it to talk about...... Cain!

What a surprise!

And your snarky "lofty goal" comment is laughable, not that I'm competing for high rec posts, but I have been here for a long time and have plenty of those. Sorry to disappoint you and your fragile ego.

Frankly, I could care less about the republican primary. I generally ignore it. Whoever ends up the nominee will still be an idiot.

10. You Said You Didn't Care About High Rec Posts And Did Care About High Rec Posts In One Sentence
As to your remark about my thread there is no mention of Cain. He's not the first or last person to use race as a sword or shield. But it's ironic you immediately thought of him. When you point a finger at someone you have four fingers pointing back at yourself. Perhaps it' s you that has a obsession with Herman Cain and sees him everywhere;even places where he doesn't exist.

13. You Caught Me There
Edited on Thu Nov-03-11 01:52 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
You know why I am "obsessed" with the Cain story. It's because I take umbrage at people who are caught, dead to right, and then deny it. Cain did it. He should just fess up...

In the current instance you said or implied I was a fan of Mitt, hang out at Free Republic, and harbor some kind of racial animus, and then you had the temerity to say or suggest you weren't attacking me.

Whom should I believe? You or my lying monitor?

If you want I will address each of your apocryphal charges, one by one.

I'll start:

"Fan of Mitt"

I don't even know where to begin. Why don't you offer some evidence.

"Hang out at Free Republic"

I said I did a reconnaissance mission. That means you search for what you needs and get out as soon as possible. Look it up in the dictionary. That's the opposite of "hanging out".

"Accusing the media of an anti-white bias"

That makes no sense at all. I answered my own question in the seminal post. Cain could survive a scandal where Romney couldn't because "The Tea Nuts will stick with Herman Cain to the bitter end..."

14. To clarify things

You're twisting my words and I'm done with your condescension.

1. I asked you if you were a fan of Romney and it was tongue in cheek, seeing you were attacking only one of his opponents (the one beating him in polls).

2. You mentioned doing a reconnaissance at Free Republic in one of your posts. I should not have said "hanging out".

3. YOU said if Romney had a scandal like Cain's, he would have to bow out.... Why the difference? That's why I asked if there was an anti-white discrimination twist
to your logic. I never said the media had it, BTW. You twisted my words. I actually thought there could be some kind of discussion here. You made a bold statement,
but then didn't explain it. That's why I asked.

I'm not sure the Tea Party is all that strong to take credit for keeping Cain alive. However, after seeing so many republicans survive even worse sex scandals, it
wouldn't surprise me if he slid by on this one.

Personally, I hope he does survive. He's such a firecracker, he would be easy to beat in the general.

DemocratSinceBirth- can we just get passed this? I have nothing against you and I'm sure you're a great person. Sorry to get you so riled. My statements were really
tongue in cheek and I was genuinely interested in where you were coming from.

15. I Apologize For The Condescension But The Mitt And Freak Republic Remark Stung
I peruse Free Republic as well as other right wing sites, from time to time, to see what the enemy/opponent is saying. As far as Cain the Tea Nuts love him and every attack on him by the main stream media endears him to them even more. That's why he will (I think but I now I'm hedging) weather this storm.

As far as Romney he's a hollow man, a suit... Nothing more...Nothing less...

PEACE
DSB

P.S. I did make a lot of posts on Cain. He's a real piece of work.

18. It is common for politicians on both sides of the aisle to like about sexual indiscretions.
You know why I am "obsessed" with the Cain story. It's because I take umbrage at people who are caught, dead to right, and then deny it. Cain did it. He should just fess up...

Politicians always lie about sexual indiscretions, Democrats and Republicans alike. I'm not saying it's right but if we only pick on Cain for this we are being hypocritical. I remember a lot people saying "so what" when Weiner lied and they said the same thing when Clinton lied. But then those were Democrats. Now suddenly a Republican does it and some of those same people who dismissed Weiner's and Clinton's lies are all worked up over Cain.

an elected official before, so it would have come to light long ago. Cain and his people knew about all this, and had to know someone would talk--that tells me they knew Cain would never be a serious contender. He serves some other role in this GOP farce of a primary. I can't decide if it's just personal enrichment, a media job, or something else.
