Well, it's clear Washington Insiders Approve of the Bill
It's amusing watching the defenders of the Senate health bill post links to all of the Progressives in Congress that are coming out in support of the bill. I for one am not surprised, the chance there would be a progressive revolt in Congress was slim. Rahm Emmanuel was going to whip most of them in line. Even Dean is cooling it off a little, and this is for a reason.

1. The last thing Democratic party leaders want is a serious enemy on the Left. Losing voters is never a plan for success no matter how irrelevent you think some are. Dean had to be brought back in because he was getting people whipped up against the bill. His comments on MTP don't mean Progressives will accept the bill, it's simply a move by Washington to neutralize a threat.

2. I don't believe a lot of the REAL progressives in Congress like Feingold and Franken really support the bill. They're doing as they're told and falling in line. At the end of the day, most politicians worry about their careers and not making enemies of people they may have to work with down the road...I understand that which is why I'm not even upset about what they're doing.

All the above does is show that Washington insiders approve of the bill. Main Street STILL does not. THAT is what's important, not which politician is falling in line. As if that's supposed to be important.
