Pelosi Statement Following House Passage of Short-Term Continuing Resolution

Pelosi Statement Following House Passage of Short-Term Continuing Resolution

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after the House passed by unanimous consent a short-term continuing resolution that will fund the government until October 4. The House will vote early next week on a six-week continuing resolution:

"Democrats insisted that we meet the immediate needs of those suffering from disasters without sacrificing American jobs. We stood firm against Republican efforts to balance the budget on the backs of those hit by natural hurricanes, floods and earthquakes disasters by destroying good-paying American jobs.

"Now that another Republican-manufactured shutdown crisis was averted, we must now address the top priority of the American people: jobs.

"President Obama has put forward the American Jobs Act to put Americans back to work rebuilding our nation, to strengthen small businesses so they can thrive and hire, and to grow our economy in a fiscally responsible way. It's critical to our nation's economic recovery that this jobs bill becomes law."

1. Imagine how fast this country would hit bottom if those people
who went through natural disasters had absolutely no help to rebuild.

Eric Cantor is a psychopath at the very least. Mean to the core. Meaner than Dick Cheney on his worst day.

2. If only we could get this message
past the corporate controlled media.

My niece, who was in Job Corp, and has no prospects for a future, has on her Facebook page that she is a Republican! How can you fight the stupidity that is our electorate when the republicans control the message?
