Perry's despicable lie of the week. Just how stupid is this man?
For those of you who stomached the repuke debate, aren't you
still infuriated by Perry's despicable act...of making it
sound like the woman with cancer was the reason he
pushed through the vaccine?

Ugh...sickningly googly-eyed and syrupy and as transparent as a ghost:

"I got lobbied on this issue. I got lobbied by a 31-year-old young lady who had stage 4 cervical cancer. I spent a lot of time with her. She came by my office, talked to me about this program."

The truth?
Our ruling: Perry had an ally in Heather Burcham in 2007, but only after he issued his order. In the debate, in contrast, Perry brought up Burcham’s heartfelt advocacy while not speaking to criticism he had been lobbied into the order by a former aide representing a drug company. His statement misled by creating the impression Burcham swayed him to proceed with the executive order. In reality, by all accounts, that just didn’t happen.

4. He doesn't care. He will say anything and as long as his
masters like him, he's fine and his words don't matter. But it does look like they're getting ready to throw him under the bus. He was useful in Texas and they may keep him there, but there are more smart people in the whole of the country. Texas is the incubator for dumbing down the curriculum.

6. He's just playing the same "say anything and don't worry about
the truth" card that has been so successfully played by Palin, Bachmann et al. There are no consequences anymore to being caught in an outright lie. Knowledge doesn't impact behavior and his supporters will wet themselves every time he gets up to the podium regardless of what bullshit he's been caught on. But I agree that Rove and company are preparing to throw him under the bus pretty quickly. No loss there.
