1. Agreed
It's like gospel that Perry is the Tea Party guy and Romney can't win in the South and/or with the fundies.

Again, the Tea Party does not run the establishment. The establishment runs the Tea Party. They want Romney in, he will be in, and the fundies will do what they're told and support him. You can already see this taking place

Perry is already being abandoned.

2. When push comes to shove Republicans will put their head
before their heart. If necessary, they will pitch in
and help Romney with the South.

Look at it this way. It is not the whole South,
no it is not even one whole state who would be Anti-Mormon.
Primarily, the Southern Baptists. Whem you think of
it this way, they are a very small minority.

If the Party becomes convinced Perry might not work out
for them, the GOP goes with a Winner.

4. Probably true. Except for the immigration thing. If Perry can't come up with...
a good explanation for giving in-state tuition to illegals, he's in a bit of trouble with some states. Other than that, I get the feeling that Perry could say just about anything, or do just about anything, and the voters wouldn't care. They'd vote for him because of his general stance and his strong mannerisms and way of speaking.

6. Big Ed is right. The TeaNuts have taken over the party, and Mittens is toast in the south and west.
