GOP presidential debate audience boos US soldier serving in Iraq because he’s gay
X-post from GLBT forum.

If a Democratic debate audience had done this, it would be the only thing we heard about for the next 14 months. They just booed a US soldier serving in combat. Think about that. This is what the Republican party has become. A bunch of far-right bigots and extremists. The Tea Party and the evangelical nuts run the entire thing now.

And watch Rick Santorum not say a peep when these right-wing freaks are booing a US soldier serving in combat.

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xwoh6g05hj4&feature=player_embedded

This is why we need more than 48% to vote.

4. I agree. Social psychology coupled with some jerk who wanted to be on television
any way he could. Obviously he was impressed with the results of "Die! Die! Die!" from the last debate.

2. I started to post a reply to say that it sounded only like a guy or two booing...
So why blame the whole bunch of them?

But then I started anticipating possible replies to my reply.

"Why didn't the rest of the crowd counter-boo such an offensive display?"

"Why didn't even one of the candidates denounce the offensive display?"

And I realized I was wrong.

I originally went out of my liberal way to try to explain away any blame as to the larger crowd last night.

I was wrong.

Very wrong.

That is what the Republican party is now.

They hate gay people. They hate sick people.

They jeer life.

They cheer death, in any form.

Except for abortion.

They need someone to project their anger and frustrations up against.

Times are tough. And there are a lot of hateful people out there.

And the media make them more hateful every single day. That's what they call a job.
