Have there been any polls of Obama's LGBT approval since DADT died?
I've been watching the trend. In October, well before the vote, it was 64%. In July, after the reversal on DOMA, it was 76.9%. Now that DADT has finally been consigned to the ash heap of history, I'm curious to see what it is today.

1. No one has anything?
I'm reasonably sure it's back over 80% at least, if not approaching 90. But I'd like to see some hard numbers.

2. I haven't seen any.
I am sure there was some bounce, but I don't know if it will be a big one.

3. The July numbers showed that LGBT*.* have started to come home.
Now after a big move like the final end of DADT I'm thinking the majority of the rest will come back, too.

4. Too early, I might think.
Give it a couple of days, I bet someone is working on it right now.

7. Yes and No.
The US government is still supposed to enforce the law, since it is law. And although the DOJ is bowing out, Congress can defend DOMA whenever they want and I believe Boehner is taking action on that. Admittedly the Admin is backing off, but it's still a problem. We need to do away with DOMA 100%---because the defense of it is still applicable if Congress wants to.

8. But Obama going to a position of not defending the law
from one of not only defending it but insulting us (comparing our relationships to pedophilia and incest) is a major reversal.

And the Federal Government is actively helping the plaintiff in at least one case against DADT now.

That, vab, is a major reversal, a major improvement, and an "accomplishment."

9. Um
"But Obama going to a position of not defending the law from one of not only defending it but insulting us"

...what the hell are you talking about?

DOJ comes out swinging against DOMA

Obama administration sides with Edie Windsor in lawsuit against DOMA

Oh, and here's a case of words that matter:

Obama mentions gays during UN address in NYC

Yes, actions speak louder than words, but a US president speaking this way to an international body is actually quite significant. Here's the relevant part of what he said:

<...>

10. I have never met a gay person, male or female, who voted for either Bush or McCain.

I don't think anyone needs to be worried about how the gay people will vote next year.
I live in Idaho, so it is pretty much Republican territory here, and I have yet to meet a single gay person who said they voted for Bush or for McCain.

I found out the other day that the last time a Democratic presidential candidate won in Idaho was when LBJ won in 1964.
That's a pretty long time for domination of this state by rightwingers, but the gay people here know what they stand for, so they don't vote for Republicans.
