Buzz Blog: Democrats Hold Voter Registration Advantage in Florida
SEPTEMBER 20, 2011

Democrats hold voter registration advantage

Florida's voter breakdown as per Division of Elections:

Democrats: 4.56 million

Republicans: 4.01 million

Independent/other: 2.6 million

That would give Democrats an advantage of about 555,000.

Democrats point to a larger spread, relying on the most current overall registration, not the "active" designation number DOE uses. By that count there are 5.02 million Democrats (41%); 4.35 million Republicans (35%); and 2.9 million independents (24%).

NOTE: This blog was modified to highlight numbers on the DOE website, which looks at active registration.

1. "Lookee here". "We got a DEMOCRAT!"
That is what I was greeted with the first time I voted in Florida. That alone is illegal ANNOUCING my Party registration to the world. Then I was ushered to set of "Democrat" scanners, all by myself. This was in the Presidential election in 2008. Did my vote count? I doubt it.

2. Call them on it. Ask for their name and annouce you are filing a complaint
The best thing to do to a bully is punch back. And follow through with the complaint. They really hate that.
