Here's the man who will probably have a second term as governor, and in his second term he might try to strip funding from education and health care while eliminating the income tax.

In Bobby Jendal's own words from The New Oxford Review LXI, no. 10 (Dec. 1994): 15-23:

2. That kind of thing only makes their "come to Jaysus" story more convincing

Same as Bush's cocaine use.

"Ever since I found Jesus, he's led me away from the folly of my youth..."

3. It kept trying to load a page from Dec. 13, 2006 but it never loaded.

4. I clicked on "Impatient?" and it worked, though slowly, for me.
Unfortunately it is very hard to find (someone covering tracks?) so if you can get you might want to print. A long, first-person account by Jindal with pleanty of religious hocus-pocus involved.

5. No he did not - not according to the link.
He went to a prayer meeting organized for a friend that was going to have major surgery. The friend weirded out and he interpreted what he saw from a deeply religious perspective. I don't think his supporters will be bothered in the slightest.

6. Oold story, nothing new.
Before Bobby Jindal was elected to any public office (including being our U.S. Congress rep when I lived in Looziana), 'King Dong', a friend on another board, long vanished, had unearthed this tale from Booby Jindal's youth and told people posting on 'LOTF' a defunct board. K.D. may have been a Democratic Party opposition researcher. He's still one of my most admired people and posts frequently on my home board: http://vincentandmorticiasspeakeasy14846.yuku.com/directory. King Dong is always right and in the know. :7

Anyhow, as I explained to Kingie, most Americans have no comprehension of Bobby's Hindu roots. There is a 'creole' coastal strain of catholicism in Louisiana which would mesh well with a hindu background. Spirit possession is accepted in Hinduism as well as Voudoun Catholicism practiced in Haiti, Brazil and south Louisiana. I've got things to do or else I'd get pedantic and tell more, having been accepted as a mambo by Voudou practitioners.

Anyway, I met Bobby when he was running for congress. He was an earnest nice young man. That he even has a genuine spiritual side is interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if he's grown up a GREAT DEAL since exorcisms and all that jazz. :7

I'm a left leaning person so don't think I'm 'defending' Bobby. I have no idea what he's really like NOW. But I do know most Americans don't have a clue about the strange 'gumbo' of cultures which came together in Louisiana. True blood is wacky but the first season or two was close. :7
