He needs our HELP, and he needs it now ...
Edited on Mon Sep-19-11 03:28 PM by Renaissance Man
I know DU has seemed like a consistent barrage of attacks against this President, and everyone isn't happy with every single detail of what this President has done. Even I fell into that trap. Now, it's time for us to push forward and help this President. This time, though, can't be like the last.

We can't sit idly by thse computers and piss and moan about what has or hasn't been accomplished in the last 2.8 years, because honestly, if we sit on our asses and do nothing and don't become engaged and HELP this president, our fate will lie in the hands of a Rick Perry or Michelle Bachmann.

You wanted this President to finally come out swinging and take these batshit, frothing-at-the-mouth, Tea Party, greedy, wanting to set this country back to 1860, will laugh and cheer on the death of anyone (death row inmate or uninsured, who cares ...) fuckers to the mat. This morning, he did just that. He called out those fuckers for being the obstructionist pieces of shit they are, and he's taking this on the road. He directly engaged them in their "class warfare" bullshit and effectively said bring it on.

At this point, there are two choices. Either fight like hell to try to build on the progress that we have made or sit idly by and bitch, moan and complain because everything wasn't done the way that you would have liked it -- even though he's had to deal with DLC Democrats (some of whom he appointed) and a considerable about of obstructionism and filibustering. Personally, I'd rather build upon that progress. We are just as (or even more responsible) as individual citizens in working for the Democracy and progress that we want as those Teahadist useful idiots that would want nothing more than to see more Americans in pain and misery.

This means that we need to start packing the town halls, start registering voters, and clog the Congressional switchboard. At this point, it's either go down with a fight, or watch 2012 be a nightmare.

Class warfare? You're fuckin' right it's class warfare, and we ALL need to have our general's back.

2. When his action speak
Then, and only then will I help him. He has used up all his points for me trusting him to do what he states he will.

4. He can't get the Tea Party voted out of Congress. Will you at least do your part THERE?
I love this chicken and egg "He needs to SHOW me something first" claptrap.

You're not going to get anywhere with the Tea Party driving the House of Representatives. It doesn't matter what kind of dream fantasy Dem you put in the White House.

3. wish some would get on the damn phone or email accounts

18. This makes it easy AFL-CIO
online petition, send email to your rep and senators based on your zip code http://act.aflcio.org/c/18/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=2813

It’s Not Class Warfare; It’s Math
Jobs are the crisis in America. Our economy will not recover until people get work.

Instead of rising to the challenge this crisis demands, politicians keep making excuses. It’s our job to shine a bright light on obstruction—and make such a strong case for job creation that Congress will have no choice but bold action.

Tell your members of Congress: Bold action to create and keep jobs is required now. Inaction is not an option.

19. I already know my rep.
He's a neighbor, so I don't have to call him. I just go over and talk to him when he's in the area. At any rate, I KNOW that Hinchey is for taxing the rich. He's stated it many times.

5. he is a DLC democrat
not literally in that organization, but he is that type of dem.

Ask us to rally around him, then tell us the truth about who we're rallying around, yell it loud and proud, "OUR DLC PRESIDENT NEEDS US!!!"

6. He asked that we rally around him long ago......
and you've been calling him names ever since.....

So there is no point to your point,
just more of the same name calling
that many have gotten well known for.

How does that help anything at this time?
It doesn't.
But you know that,
and so I have to assume that helping isn't your aim
nor your goal.

7. i'm just saying be upfront
i keep hearing how it's people's own damn fault if they're disappointed, they should have known Obama was a pragmatist, etc. Well, some of the fault lies with people who oversell him.

You think "centrist" is a nasty name? I don't. I just think it's a class of Democrat that I don't happen to agree with. And anyone who says Obama isn't in that group is deluding themselves or else trying to deceive the rest of us.

10. I guess you're ok with the namecalling in the OP
no objection to "even though he's had to deal with DLC Democrats", but grave offense at someone pointing out the false distinction in that.

Too many have been too quick to forget - or unwilling to remember - that it's always been "Yes We Can!"

15. They always forget the "WE" bit in that for sure...
Expecting Obama to do it all on his own... expecting him to be a despot like BushCo was. I find the whole thing seriously hypocritical.
