Republicans Accuse Obama of Waging 'Class Warfare' With Millionaire Tax Plan
Edited on Sun Sep-18-11 04:28 PM by FrenchieCat
A top House Republican accused President Obama of appealing to Americans' "fear, envy and anxiety" by pushing a new tax rate on people making more than $1 million annually, saying the "class warfare path" will only hurt the economy.

"Class warfare ... may make for really good politics, but it makes for rotten economics," Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., chairman of the House Budget Committee, told "Fox News Sunday."

How about we write to Boehner, and Fox News and tell them they are fucking out of their minds?
That as patriotic American, we support this proposal and class warfare is warranted at this time,
because cutting people off from unemployment checks and food stamps at this time just is unacceptable.

I think that would be a productive way to pass a Sunday, for those who are politically active,
and want to make a difference, but aren't sure how....

What did you say? It won't make a difference?

Well, why don't we try it....why don't we "fight"....?
as this is the same advise many give this President.

Perhaps in large numbers we can move the needle, or at least be able to say,
we fought and tried.

1. Good. This class war has been going on for decades.
It's about time we had a president who was accused of fighting back.

8. So do I. I'm drinking the water right now by emailing the people you put in your OP.
I hope others will do the same-especially those who do nothing but complain about Obama.

7. I see that some would rather unrec this than to actually do anything
that "might" make a difference.

Either someone who hates Obama, loves millionaires, hates me or loves Fox news!
Not impressive.

Hope mods are tracking this shit when its time to clean house! That's for damn sure!

10. K&R. Time to shatter the "lazy left" meme.
This is good, right?

This is what we want from President Obama, right?

Then fill those in boxes and voice mails.

emails from almost no one on the Left ever.

15. Lol at how afraid they are that anyone would even *think* of fighting back

I'll be the first to admit that I'm doing okay, and I have no idea how my neighbors get by on their incomes. But the fear of reprisals with which the truly wealthy live, make it seem just not worth the effort.

Appalling Greed: Richest 400 Average $270.5 Million Incomes, Pay Almost Nothing in Taxes
-Compare that to 1955, when the country's most affluent made far less money and paid 51 percent of their income in taxes-
By Sam Pizzigati May 16, 2011

In 2008, the IRS revealed last week, 400 Americans reported at least $110 million in income on their federal tax returns. These 400, in a year that ended with millions of Americans out of work and home, averaged $270.5 million each, the second-highest U.S. top 400 average income on record.

18. Of course, they do
And, unfortunately, it usually works. Let's hope that, this time, people don't allow Republicans to convince them that it is in their best interest to vote against their own interests.

20. Pure Rethuglican projection at its finest. They have been engaged
in open class warfare since they opposed FDR's New Deal. But, a la Karl Rove, you always label the opposition with the nasty stuff you're doing or planning on doing. Works every time.:puke:
