16. That's great if only Democrats are allowed to vote in the general election.
Otherwise, not so good.

2. wow...I wonder which candidate has the over 50% mark?
:sarcasm:

I know you're just the messenger, but the consistent way to decide which messages to pass along gets tiresome.

unrec, for persistent negativity. How's that impeachment thing going for ya?

3. If you were a miner in a coalmine and your canary
began singing loudly.....

would you kill him?

5. Lots of assumptions in that; especially with "your" and "canary".
Our situation is not as simple as a detecting "a poisonous gas" largely because there are waaaaaaaaaay more factors and we ARE talking about the future, not the next 5 minutes, so predictions are less reliable.

9. The canary could react to something other than poisonous gas. Maybe it's sick. nt

react to its signal by going to a different part of the coalmine that subsequently floods, because the pumps are expropriated to clean the boss's swimming pool instead?

11. IOW, If there IS something wrong (which I admit is undeniable) we must do the right thing about it.

All the miners are now dead because of your indecisiveness.

17. If there is poisonous gas, the important thing is to do the right thing & attacking the guy who
knows the most about the mine isn't the right thing.

12. Are you implying you are a self proclaimed canary?
if so, the gas you are smelling isn't coming from the Left.

If you are not calling yourself the canary, nothing you said just made sense.

14. LOL

Nice spin, but Cal is a solid Dem state and Dems win not just because of Berkeley...if we're not picking it up with relative ease the 2012 election will not be pretty.

20. Your ,absolutely right as far as a Liberal state we always need ,but
Nixon ,Regan the fact that they facilitate Republican agendas as much as midwest states. President Obama won by a 24% margin ,which is healthy.I imagine California's long financial woes must be partially to blame ,even though He isn't.

28. For a bit of perspective

Thomas Mark, Author
Fall of 1994

"And then of course, there was Bob Woodward's new
book, "The Agenda," which divulged
Clinton's adolescent temper tantrums
and ironically characterized the chief
executive as indecisive and hesitant
(Weisberg 17-18).

Largely due to these embarrassing distractions
and the extensive scrutiny of
the media, Bill Clinton's approval ratings
are very low at a time when by "every
traditional measure he should be riding
high.... In a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup
Poll 35% , likely fueled by
continuing charges about financial dealings
and extramarital affairs, say Clinton
has tended to lower the stature of the
presidency, and only one in ten would
definitely vote for him again in 1996"

We know how that turned out. It happens to all of them. Later in his presidency, Clinton was able to ride the dotcom bubble, and was lucky enough to be on his way out when it burst. Another stroke of luck for BC was the fact that social media and personal computers didn't play a big part in our everyday lives. One can only imagine what impact that would have had on his presidency.

If the election is fair, and all the votes are counted, President Obama will win reelection. :hi:
