Brooklyn is going 70-30 for the Repuke. Mostly on the strength of the Orthodox Jewish vote.

Astounding that Orthodox Jews can listen to the current Republican party and NOT have it send shivers down their spine.

8. Doubly so considering they made him out to be pro-terrorist. Literally.
The Reps basically accused him of supporting terrorists building a victory mosque on Ground Zero.

Combined with the fact that while in the Assembly, he voted for the gay marriage bill (which was hugely unpopular with the orthodox Rabbis) it explains a lot.

3. There are no words. People should not assume that the Republicans will die EVER.
This is a faction that will always remain in power in some way shape or form and the United States, ever since Obama won, is pushing it self progressively further right than ever.

Doesn't matter if you are fundamentalist christian, jew or muslim. A fundamentalist is a fundamentalist is a fundamentalist...i.e. blinded by faith and a tragedy to humankind.

20. Insights
Christine Quinn: NY-9 Was Always Going To Be Tough

I asked City Council Speaker Christine Quinn why the NY-9 race is so close and she denied it ever was going to be any other way.

She cited looming redistricting (the district is widely speculated to be dropped next year) as one complicating factor. “You’re voting for a Congressman who’s only going to be a Congressman for a year,” she said. “That’s unique.”

She added the district had been trending conservative, noting that Republican Bob Turner ran surprisingly strong against Anthony Weiner in the last election, winning almost 40% of the vote.

Still, she thinks Weprin’s going to pull it out with a superior ground game.

David Weprin's Brother On NY-9 Numbers: What The Hell Is Wrong With Us?

David Weprin’s brother, City Council member Mark Weprin, stopped by my computer to check the results and doesn’t seem too happy. “We had 1,500 volunteers going to the polls, what the hell is wrong with us?” he said. He credited his brother’s tough numbers with a “combination of factors” rather than a silver bullet, like Israel or Obama. “(David’s) not the incumbent, but he is the establishment guy,” he said. “He is taking some of that heat.”

29. Perhaps voters did not want to vote for someone who didn't live there.
Weprin does not live in the district and would not commit to living in the district if he won. Was there NOT ONE Democrat in the entire district that could have been chosen by the Party to be a Representative? What is YOUR excuse?

I'm blown away by the fact that the Democratic party would allow that to happen.

"How quaint."

What, logic?

For the next year, the Republicans have 26 more seats than they need to pass any legislation.

Now, if this seat were going to be contested in 2012, that would be a different story.

Still, while some are intent on making this about Obama, the district has its own set of problems.

31. I'm learning from my Jewish friends, that many Orthodox Jews care most about one thing:
Israel. They don't care if the fundies believe in the Rapture and that Jews will ultimately be condemened for not accepting Christ when the Final Judgement comes. They could care less. One thing unites both of these camps, besides racism, and that is Israel.

35. It is! Many, not all, are one-issue voters and care only about Israel.
That's what brought many--not all--to the polls. I didn't make this up. It has been reported. There have been interviews with these voters who assert that Obama doesn't support Israel. Ed Koch was out there spewing his filth as well. It did have an effect, though. The scary black guy hates Israel. It's so transparent what they did to convince people to vote for Bob Turner.

36. It's been reported?! Oh goody...then you have links!?
Look up "correlation" and "causation."

Also read: Pre-election Stats.

It is true there was much invocation of Israel, but there were simply other issues involved and this continued BS that(many of) the Jews are "one-issue voters and care only about Israel" has got to stop...from you and your alleged "Jewish" friends!
