6. Maybe having Obama directly address those lies and pins?
Instead of having some creepy website do it.

I know, what a crazy concept.

13. Yes, because he has time to do that.
Do I need to add a :sarcasm: thingy?

He's the president, I want him to do that job. I do not want him to wast precious time on fighting lies from asshats.

26. That seems to be exactly what you said. You said he doesn't have time to confront attacks
if confronting attacks isn't part of campaigning then what is?

8. certainly not a site that will soon become the object of ridicule, why not have Obama himself address
slanted coverage. This site has very nebulous categories that make it looks like it is encouraging 'thought-police' style informing on other people, not just media spin.

9. It already blew up in their faces
It's the laughingstock of the internet.

Better now than October 2012 I suppose. I really hope his campaign gets all the idiocy out of their systems by then.

How did no one know exactly how this was going to play?

17. Exactly. It worked before
Hopefully it will work again.

My only question is will they be attacking the smears coming from all sides? I wouldn't be surprised if he ignored many of the left-wing ones considering that he has 80+% approval from his base.

19. Did you actually click the link?
According to the selection, the attacks they want reported are clearly smears so they can respond to them. It's nothing to wet yourself over.

10. Better believe that Rove and the Kochs
are and will be throwing everything in their very nasty arsenal against President Obama. The republicans have been in seige mode since before the inauguration. And, yes, they do have some of their sappers at DU.

11. Why does the site have to be so damn creepy?
Edited on Wed Sep-14-11 03:28 PM by boxman15
WTF? The idea of the site is a good one, but they really need to relaunch this website. Whoever thought of that design needs to be fired ASAP. This does no good.

And it's good Obama is starting to be tough with Republicans and calling their bullshit out, but that doesn't mean he has to use violent(ish) rhetoric and have a creepy-ass website. This is disappointing. You can be tough but still have a positive campaign.

20. The Washington Post reports it's become a laughingstock (& a tool for the Teabaggers)of the internet

"It’s safe to say that in its 24 hours of existence, Attack Watch has already backfired, becoming a tool for conservatives to use against Obama 2012. A tweet by conservative author Brad Thor summed up the critics’s argument: “Wow, not only are Obama & Co. incredibly thin-skinned, they're paranoid.”"
