sayeth Tom Cole, R-OK, on Al Sharpton's program a few minutes ago about President Obama's "Pass this Bill" demand.

Yes, he really said that.

To which I say, "Where have you been for the past eight months, Congressman? That's EXACTLY how your party has begun every negotiation.

I guess those rules only apply to you guys, eh? Now that the President is using your team's playbook, suddenly it's time to change the rules.

2. Well,
that's correct and it seems to work for the Repugs splendidly. But then again, they don't seem to be as afraid of their shadows as the Dems.
Just sayin

4. The President is not doing that with his jobs bill
He's doing just what many of his Democratic detractors insist that he should do - he's fighting hard, using his bully pulpit, and taking it to the Republicans.

But apparently, that's just not good enough for some people . . .

The point of my OP was to call out hypocritical, crybaby Republicans but why am I not surprised that it's being used as another opportunity to bash our Democratic President?

13. Actually, he just signaled his willinglness to compromise.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/09/13/obama-jobs-bill-plan_n_960100.html

I do give him credit, this time around, for using the bully pulpit in more effective manor than he has in the past, but it's more than likely too little too late. Republicans already know that he's politically weak and unable to hold together a coalition to get what he wants. If he would of started doing this kind of push when he attempted HCR, he would have gone down in history as one of the great presidents, but as it stands now, he will go down as a mediocre president at best.

7. What's sick is the inability of some people here to EVER give the President credit
even when he's doing exactly what they've been demanding that he do - and how quick these same people are to trash him rather than focus their efforts on calling out Republicans.

Funny - some of the same people who demand that the President attack Republicans don't seem willing or able to do so themselves - at least when there's an opportunity to attack the President instead.

Obama Would Sign Parts Of Jobs Bill, Push For Rest
Sam Stein - HuffPo
First Posted: 9/13/11 12:41 PM ET Updated: 9/13/11 01:50 PM ET

WASHINGTON -- The Obama White House is revising its initial unwillingness to negotiate on the president's job creation plan, saying now that if individual components of the bill came to the president's desk -- as opposed to the bill in its entirety -- he would sign them into law.

The new approach opens up the administration to charges that it no longer views the American Jobs Act as a take-it-or-leave-it bill. But in a briefing with reporters Tuesday, senior administration officials insisted President Obama wasn't backing off his position that he wants the entire bill passed through Congress.

If lawmakers sent Obama legislation that would, say, send money to the states to rehire teachers, he would sign it and push for Congress to pass the remainder of his suggested reforms. As one of those senior administration officials put it, it would be politically suicidal to veto a bill that creates 1 million jobs just because it doesn't create 2 million jobs.

The less-than-absolutist stance contrasts with remarks made in television appearances earlier Tuesday morning by Obama adviser David Axelrod, who insisted that the president wasn't interested in negotiations "to break up the package." "It's not an a la carte menu," Axelrod said.

14. It's a fascinating thing, isn't it?
A straightforward OP criticizing Republicans has been hijacked - per usual - by people much more intent on attacking the President.
