Perry-Palin GOP ticket 2012
Edited on Sat Sep-10-11 02:28 PM by cilla4progress
I just figured it out: caught the headline on HuffPo that Palin is explaining Perry's social security comments. It came like a flash in the night...he's going to ask her to be his VP. It explains a lot...her recalcitrance, teasing, but staying in the limelight. She may not be "ready" for the top of the ticket, but after 8 years as VP to him...

Dream Team for the Tea Party.

Goddess save our souls!

4. Not in a million years.
They will take her endorsement, but they are not going to put her on the ticket again. It would be electoral suicide over an individual that isn't even that popular among Republicans.

My guess would be Perry and Rubio.

5. Spot on -
that was my initial thought, as well. The handsome Latino conservative guy.

Whew! Thanks for rescuing me from my moment of insanity.

Of course, there's always Energy Secretary, or the Supreme Court for Palin! :freak:

8. Agreed. Not her.
There were voters who WOULD HAVE voted McCain if Palin wasn't on the ticket. They either voted for Obama or didn't vote at all BECAUSE OF HER. Perry wouldn't make the same mistake.

6. Every Democrat's wet dream!
But it'll never happen, the big money boys who run the republican party are already starting to have second thoughts about empowering the lunatic fringe of their party.

I don't believe they think they can keep Palin under control.

And I don't think Perry wants to play back up to his running mate.

7. My guess is T-Paw for VP.
He needs a northern businessMAN (no more women for the sexist GOP). ROmNey is the logical choice, but there is too much hatred between them.

11. Romney wouldn't agree to play 2nd fiddle. He's in it for the top spot. But Pawlenty IS

a possibility. He counters Perry's wild exuberance with a milder temperament, and his positions are more moderate.

I think Huntsman is running for the 2nd fiddle spot, also. He wouldn't be a bad choice for Perry, either.

(edited to correct spelling...darn! can't I spell anymore?)

10. I first posted this a while back. After reflection, tho, I don't think so.

Perry and Palin are friends, it's true. BUT...if he wins the nomination, he probably would have to pick someone more moderate, to appeal to non-wackos. Huntsman is hoping it'll be him.

It can't be Bachman, either, since Perry & Backman's positions are so similar. She appeals only to the Tea Party, which he already has in the bag.

13. But, but -
Perry is a loose cannon. I don't think it was a mistake - or that he thinks it was a mistake - calling SS a Ponzi Scheme at the debate. I'm not sure he's serious about winning, making outlandish statements like that.

Of course - we've been here before...Reagan...Bush... :puke:

14. Not a chance in hell that happens...
Palin will never be second fiddle on a ticket again. No candidate would ask her to be their VP running mate because she'd overshadow them with her celebrity hijinks.

Marco Rubio is the most likely candidate to be the Republican VP candidate. In fact, I'd bet the chances Rubio is selected is 75% or better. My guess right now is it will be Perry/Rubio or perhaps Romney/Rubio if Perry implodes (which I don't think is going to happen).
