Obama's Gallup tracking....44% approve, 50% disapprove
Trending back up.

America getting a closer look at Rick Perry will do that.

Don't expect this to be touted like the 38-55 numbers of two weeks ago.

4. What's to ignore? Since when does "he doesn't scare us like the other guy does"
equal 'support'?

5. Since when does "doesn't scare us" equal job approval?
Some people don't like to admit that Obama's job approval is vastly higher than they'd like to think it is.

9. Why shame on me? I am assuming he is NOT a moron, who WILL
come to recognize that we do not have a Democratic president. As will be soon made very evident.

Would you admit that killing the big 3 is something NO Democratic president would ever do?

12. What you said was
that unless s/he is a total moron, s/he will end up agreeing with you. That's at least how I read it and what triggered my reaction above.

14. Well, I happen do disagree with
most of your conclusions, starting with the "corporatist republican" part. And with all due modesty, I do not think I am a moron, which is what you implied (not about me specifically) in the post that started this discussion.

The rest of your posts were civil and considerate, just stating "facts" that I strongly disagree with. I can live with that. What I found offensive (maybe an over-reaction in your specific case, but it's something I am very sensitive to) is negative labeling and insulting people just because they happen to reach different conclusions and therefore disagree with you.

17. "Agree with me, or you're a moron!"
"Believe the same factually false things I do, or you're a moron!"

Yeah, real civil debating tactic you have there.

11. No, it doesn't. "Death panels" is a RW boogieman with no basis in reality.
"Catfood commission" is a deliberately disrespectful term for a very real commission who thinks (with good cause) their mandate is to end SS, Medicare and Medicaid as we know it. They are working on it as I write this. We will see the results of that work by Thanksgiving.

Hold onto your seat - it's going to be a bumpy ride.

16. Nope. It's just as much a bullshit bogeyman.
The belief that there is any intent to end Social Security is a completely made-up lie.

15. Same bullshit your side has been pushing for months.
Back to when people were screaming from the rooftops that the presidential commission was going to result in the destruction of Social Security. Then it was the debt deal. Now it's the committee. They were wrong as hell every single time before, they are wrong as hell now, but no matter how many times they're proven to be full of it, they never back off from their claims, and never apologize for the smear campaign.

18. The commission DID make recommendations that would undercut
and eventually destroy SS. They had no power to enact their suggestions. That's what the committee is for.

It's ain't over yet.

19. Keep moving those goalposts.
After all, it doesn't matter that such a thing could never pass Congress, just so long as you scare enough people by claiming it could!
