"The crowd in Simi Valley is a blood-thirsty one"
Biggest Applause Line Of The Night Goes To 234 People Perry Has Seen Executed In Texas

The crowd in Simi Valley is a blood-thirsty one: the biggest applause line of the night at the debate went to Rick Perry’s defense of the 234 people that have been executed by the state of Texas while Perry has been governor.

Perry had no apologies for the number, and if anything seemed proud of it. Asked by moderator Brian Williams why the number got so much applause, Perry said this:

“I think Americans understand justice.”

Pro-life?

1. I have mixed feelings about the death penalty, myself. But it would never occur to me
to cheer executions. Kinda fucked up, that.

5. Who was actually there? Attendees at such events tend to be biased.
There were possibly more campaign staff there then outside supporters.

6. Richard Speck is still alive and well!
Edited on Wed Sep-07-11 09:44 PM by golfguru
I lived only a few blocks from the house where he butchered 8 young nurses.
Last time I saw this human piece of garbage is where he was growing tits for
the pleasure of other inmates. Must be taking harmones. But that was Chicago.
Speck is lucky the crime was not in Texas.

7. Perry
executed an innocent man.

Are you defending Perry's actions? The crowd applauding?

11. Nothing at all to do with Perry
I have not looked into his record. I am just disgusted Speck
was kept alive for many years. I did not hear he had died in prison.
I remember seeing his video on TV some years back where he was impersonating
a female to be popular among inmates.

8. Earlier in the debate he talked about 'always erring on the side of life' over HPV vacs.

His own hypocrisy was on display and the cheers tell us quite a bit about Republicans in the year 2011. The GOP makes a business out of celebrating the worst in human nature.
