Am I the only one here who thinks MSNBC is doing its best to set up Perry as THE man to beat?
The MSNBC commentators are talking him up to the skies while also lowering expectations three feet deep.

Perry's going to have to screw up pretty badly for these guys to stop kissing on him. Unless he shoots heroin on camera or throws up on anyone, he will be annoited as the hottest thing since boiled water.

Or maybe I'm wrong . . . I hope so.

1. About the tenth thread on MSNBC today.
COMCAST has officially taken over content I think.

2. We knew this would happen, didn't we?
First thing out the chute, they cancel Countdown.

I don't watch MSNBC any more. Too whitewashed.

5. Sure seems like a worm has turned for the worst today
All day. It might be more than 10 threads with people peeved about MSNBC today and what they are saying.

7. I don't think it's any kind of corporate conspiracy
I think it's more about bored, lazy reporters wanting and needing a bright, shiny object to keep it interested. Without a Perry in the race, they might actually have to shift their focus from personalities to issues - and that would be too much work.

6. Without a single vote having been cast
And how much of that "ahead in the polls" is the result of the deluge of coverage he's getting?

14. What annoys me is the way the media have injected themselves so deeply into the political process
that they determine who the winners and losers are before anyone even votes.

For example, although I'm no fan (at all) of Pawlenty, it's really a shame that he had to drop out of the race because he didn't do well in a meaningless straw poll. Huntsman is about to be driven out because he hasn't "caught on" yet. But no primaries have taken place and no votes have been cast. The process has become ridiculous.

The fact that a bunch of reporters and pundits are deciding who will and won't make it to the primaries is very galling to me.

4. I think he pretty much is, isn't he? He blew Bachmann out of the
water just by announcing. If he's abysmal during the debate they'll change their tune quickly enough. But all eyes are on Perry and they have to go along.

Doesn't much matter anyway, I don't think -- we're pretty much the only ones who watch MSNBC.

and see how long I can stomach it. I'm sure it won't be for too long.

10. I used watch MSNBC but no more
I keep forgetting to turn to Rachel Maddow after KO comes on his new channel.

And Rachel is the only thing on there worth watching anymore.

Two women?
Two Mormons?
Two warmed-over has-beens party hacks?
A minority?
A Libertarian?

17. I stopped doing that after George W.
I should have learned my lesson after Ronald Reagan.

Be careful what you ask for.

18. Perry is at least as flawed as Palin.
It is the blogsphere's job to dig the dirt, and there is plenty, on him and show it to the world.

19. No you are not
I made note of this in another thread. They have been lowering the bar for him for over a week now. As long as he doesn't forget his name and wins the debate.

They want to see the tall good looking, dumb but so American cowboy go against the tall good looking, exotic, so smart that we feel inadequate black professor.
