16. Or it could mean...
That we support traditional Democratic ideals (civil liberties, union, public schools, taxes on the wealthy, infrastructure spending, etc.) and don't bend or shape those ideals depending on what letter the person in a particular office has after their name.

In other words, it's Democratic Underground, not Obama Underground. So when he supports Democratic party principles he gets some of our support. But when he supports Republican principles, it's perfectly understandable for a place called Democratic Underground to point this out and be unhappy with it.

20. The little problem is, most of those complaints are made-up bullshit.
Some people here prefer making up what they think Obama really believes, versus looking at the reality.

28. "versus looking at the reality"
Sorry, but the same exact thing could be said about many of the "clap louder" crowd as well.

Enough of us go by his actions and his actual words to base our complaints off of, and are then told "But you don't understand....that's not what he REALLY wants to do!". So in those instances who is the one making up their own reality based on what they THINK he means or what they think he wants.

29. it's a bit early to make a decision, don't you think...?
Although I never sit elections out, so that's really not an option. I'll wait and see who's running, what parties they represent, and what their platforms are. Other than the field of republicans whose platforms generally seem to be upstaging one another at being utterly unhinged, it's way too early to know what the field will look like.

I guess I'll have to vote for him, too, since he's the Democratic pick and to primary him would be insane and Republicans are stupid and scary and...

...I actually support him 100%!!! :patriot:

Also, suppose you vote for seven Democrats down the line, but your city councilman sucks so you vote Green? Should that person who does that not be here?

51. I'm not expecting information...
... I just wish the Democratic Underground had a policy against posting outright lies.

If I have to read one more "this Republican Presnent Obama totally got rid a Social Security and insulted every liberal on the planet by saying sometin', which if you try reaL hard to interpret it that way means what I think it does even though maybe the actual words don't, and whaaaaa people who fact check me are meaanies and hate all True Democrats® of which you are NOT because YOU DON'T HATE OBAMA!" post, I'll scream.

The signal to noise ration in the D.U., never the best, is approaching close to near zero.

You're just angry 'cause he didn't do something, or did do something, you don't like, that was an effort at compromise. EVERYBODY hated that.

But he's not the same as a Republican, by a longshot. You've just forgotten what it was like to live under Reagan and Bush Jr.
