"Cut the Deficit, Tax Obama's CEO Friends"
Via email...

Thanks to the Institute for Policy Studies and Huffington Post, we have identified 10 obvious sources of revenue that have not been tapped.

Ten FOOs (Friends of Obama) ran corporations with nearly $27 billion in profits last year. The 10 FOOs took home roughly $160 million in pay -- an average of $16 million per person last year. And their companies paid negative $5.4 billion in taxes. That's right: we paid them.

Budget problems? Tax these guys and their companies!

1. Which is exactly what Obama has been saying. Most of "his friends" as you say...
are wealthy folks who don't mind paying more. Ever hear of Warren Buffet?

Oh, and unrec for unnecessary gratuitous vitriolic hyperbole.

2. So bizarre. Obama wants to tax them too yet they somehow turn it into a slam against him.
Edited on Wed Sep-07-11 12:58 PM by Pirate Smile
Totally typical of a lot of the criticism of him.

Distorts and spins Pres. Obama's views to the opposite of what they actually are.

Seems so deceptive and Republican-like.

Edit to add - is this a Dem or left leaning group? Because they aiming their fire at the wrong target. Have the Koch brothers funded some bogus left wing groups to help divide & conquer? I wouldn't doubt it.

5. He "wants to?" LOL... And you know this how?
Edited on Wed Sep-07-11 01:06 PM by ClassWarrior
Hey, aren't you one of the folks who claim that "criticism" okay but "bashing" isn't? That's a real convenient talking point when you can label any criticism "bashing," isn't it?

By the way, the link says nothing about "Pres. Obama's views." So who's the one spinning and distorting?

6. DING! DING! DING!
"Have the Koch brothers funded some bogus left wing groups to help divide & conquer? I wouldn't doubt it."

Stephanie Miller talked about this months ago. Lots of "professional liberals" with their hands out. Nice to know that "activism" can be bought, on either side of the aisle. The right is much more brazen. Folks like NorquistDogLake are much more sinister. ;)

11. Is NorquistDogLake a "Democratic Institution"? "Institution" is a bit much, doncha think?

NDL may certainly qualify as an "institution" of sorts, but I doubt there's anything "democratic" about it. Money talks. ;)

13. Your responses remind me of the guy in the office who...
...goes postal and starts blaming everyone else anytime someone offers even the most innocuous bit of constructive criticism.

14. As a card carrying member of the "Hold Obama's Feet to the Fire" brigade,
Do you ever post anything positive about him? Just asking. There's a bit of good Obama news here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=433x765128

Since your name was conspicuously absent from a good news thread, I thought I'd give you a heads up as they tend to drop like a stone. I was sure you'd want to offer kudos to the administration for this one. Things can get a bit uneven at DU, so I thought you might want to veer, just a moment, from whatever agenda you're floating, and give big ups to the President here. :hi:

10. Of course we should do that. And at least 10 equivalent anti-Obama corporations as well.
Edited on Wed Sep-07-11 01:37 PM by Ian David
In fact, we should make ALL of them pay their fair share.
