Outrage?
<...>

Jake Tapper asks about Jimmy Hoffa's violent comments in light of President Obama's comments after the Giffords shooting that violent rhetoric is damaging.

"First of all, those weren't comments by the president," White House press secretary Jay Carney says. "I understand that there is a ritual in Washington that, somebody says something, and you link the association, and everybody who has an association with him or her has to avow or disavow it."

Carney continues: "The president wasn't there. I mean, he wasn't on stage. He didn't speak for another 20 minutes. He didn't hear it."

"Mr. Hoffa speaks for himself. He speaks for the labor movement, the AFL-CIO," Carney says. "The president speaks for himself. I speak for the president."

Why on earth didn't Carney take the opportunity to state that Hoffa speaks for the President?

Cause for outrage? You betcha!

2. He could have at least said Hoffa speaks for the Teamsters
Union, which he does, rather than the AFl-CIO, as the Teamsters are not AFL-CIO. Is this too much to ask out of mealy mouthed what's his Carney?

5. I'm really starting to believe that on DU
an "activist" means someone who can bitch with one hand while eating a sandwich with the other.

6. I think the other hand is not holding a sandwich ... it is
engaged in an activity much more fitting of the daily "primary Obama" masturbatory fantasy.

7. Ewwwww.....

But it just doesn't make sense.

A real Dem activist does not bitch about everything under the sun and does not advocate not voting as we constantly see here. But by your definition of a "DU activist," as much complaining as some of these "activists" do, you would think these people would be MUCH more laid back and at peace with... things.

10. Sorry for the visual. Imagine this version ...
What I find funny / scary / sad / is that the characteristics of the fantasy are the same.

My version of DU, "Primary Obama" Penthouse addition ...

I'm just your average liberal progressive activist writing blog posts to save America.

And I never thought this would happen to me.

I'd been in love with what I thought was this great liberal progressive candidate for a few years. Some said that I saw him as the Messiah. I would laugh, but deep down I knew they were right, I DID think that. He was all things to me.

But then he started to talk to these DLC types. I should have seen the warnings. And since, he's always letting me down.

I was crushed.

But then late one night a beautiful primary opponent knocked on my door. They had heard about my problem, and they had come to help me.

I was unsure at first. Sure, I wanted a primary opponent, but was this the one? It didn't matter. I was in need. And so I embraced the generic primary candidate. And the generic candidate showed he was a great listener. I was able to vent my frustrations, and my generic primary candidate looked deep into my soul as if to say " yes, I will give you all that and more".

My body shuddered. Could it be? Was THIS the one I was waiting for? Sure, he had no name, no face, hell no gender!!! But he or she was here, ready to be all that I wanted, all I needed, all I desired.

On the blogs I spoke of my new love. How he or she would fix it all. Beat Obama ... Fight the GOP, kill them if necessary ... again my body would shake in ecstasy.

I could see it ... the primary itself ... my new lover winning, sending the evil Obama to hell ... and then standing tall against the GOP.

And after vanquishing the GOP opponent, my new love revokes Congress, and its powers, and then the American people rally to his side in rapture. Ah ah ah ah ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

And then ... I need to take a 2 hour nap, because this is a FANTASY, and I'm exhausted.

9. There's some extra from "Deliverance" over on FaceBook calling for the FBI...
... to investigate Hoffa, Biden, Obama, and probably Markos for "violation of the USA PATRIOT Act".
His well-thought-out legal opinion is that Hoffa's statement about using our votes to "take out the sons of bitches" constitutes an act of terrorism.

I un-friended the guy (a friend of 30 years) who forwarded me the link. Life's too short to try and reason with howler monkeys who think FAUX NOOZ is Gospel.
