The President was caught completely off guard. He was not prepared for the shit storm. The reaction
to his decision has him baffled. Did he give this decision no forethought? What on earth was he thinking?

1. What decision are you talking about?
This describes the last 2 dozen "controversies" we've seen.

7. He might be smart but he seems to be in a bubble
I don't find it at all to be a ROFL level experience to watch the White House waffle over every little thing after the GOP makes a stink about something.

11. I disagree
The PL is not a large majority. It would be foolish to worry about what they think.

14. Then stop bitching about them all the time
For someone who says that the "PL" doesn't matter, you certainly use a lot of bandwidth constantly carping about them (us).

12. "Smart" doesn't automatically mean "correct" or "effective".
As we have seen.

13. There's a difference between intelligent and being an intellectual. Someone might be
intelligent, but unable to translate that intelligence into action, which is what being an intellectual is about.

It's like people with high IQs. Just because someone has a high IQ doesn't mean they are smart, it's only a measurement of their potential intelligence, not their actual intelligence.

9. Eventually, the "tell-all" books will shed light on this mess.

Maybe sooner, maybe later. Gotta suspect that phrases like "screw up" will be used. ???
