Obama Caves, or Obama Checks in 3D Chess
Could it be that by allowing the date of the jobs speech before a joint session of Congress to change, Obama is simply tossing in one more shiv to use during the speech?

"I have reached across the table to the other side on many occassions only to have my hand repeatedly slapped away. I even agreed to delay the date of this speech by one day. However, the American people who are in need of jobs cannot continue to keep waiting day after day."

1. I'm willing to keep hoping.
It's harder some days than others.

2. It's a shame he gets lambasted for doing his job. He has to work with
the Congress the American people chose in November. To do otherwise, would be a dereliction of duty. Whether he's rebuffed or not, I think he feels it's important that the American people see him reaching out, whether the activist community approves or not. To the dismay of the PL and the Tea Party; like elections, legislation is usually settled somewhere in the middle.

3. Ah, you're making too much sense.
Not always a popular perspective around here these days.

4. I will vote for him, I will probably support him financially,
and I will do what I can to help him win. The alternative is just too mind numbing to contemplate.

However, I wish he would at least pay lip service to the people like me who helped get him elected in 2008 and work just a little bit harder to get our vote.

5. I haven't been in complete agreement with every decision, but like you, the alternative...
is just too gruesome, especially with Dick Cheney back in the news, I shudder to think where they take us if they win. After beating the president over the head about the economy and lack of focus on JOBS, they took office and immediately went after Labor & the social safety net. It's not difficult to imagine them taking that strategy nationwide, and if Unions thought they were under attack before, I'm afraid their wings will be completely clipped this time around. Not to mention the USSC where there are expected to be a couple of retirements.

Much of the dissatisfaction with the president is based solely on politicking. The activists & the 24/7 media beast want more theater from him. It's just assumed that "he didn't fight hard enough", or "he caved", without knowing what went on behind closed doors. We got rid of the Blue Dogs in November, and replaced them with hardcore Teanutters as opposed to progressives. What's he supposed to do? The math is not in his favor, and all the angry diatribes in the world won't change the math.

I, too, will be donating my time & money for his reelection. :hi:

10. North Carolina, unlike TN (insert laugh) is much more likely to actually help a Democrat...
win national office. Oh, and I will never forget that TN "Democrats" couldn't even muster enough support for it's own native son. NC almost always sends a Dem to the governor's mansion, I'm not sure the same could be said for TN. FL would have pretty much been irrelevant, if TN Dems had any power statewide. TN is truly Red State Hell. :hi:

9. Who are the people who helped him get elected?
That was a majority, 52% of the population, which is not lock step, so there is not way to pay them lip service. Which is just hot air anyway if he does it.
