The change we actually got seems to be either a once-in-a-generation depression, or a rare double-dip recession, depending on whose definition you listen to.

In any case, we voted for one thing, got something entirely different in its place. I can't imagine that I'm the only person who's so frustrated that even when we wake up and vote for the right thing, we get kicked to the curb anyway.

(Sorry, just venting. This morning's (non-)jobs report has me feeling quite depressed).

2. Going right makes the Right go RIGHTER.
Edited on Fri Sep-02-11 12:37 PM by tblue
MannyG, I know. It's painful. This country is in dire, dire straits with nothing good on the horizon. . We really, really need to get on track fast. (Did you hear about Greece today? That could be us if we're not careful.)

If you can't defeat the evil Republicans, at least use every means at your disposal to stop them. A lot hasn't even been tried. Why no investigation of Clarence Thomas? If you really want to change this country's course, you gotta use any (legal, nonviolent) means necessary. And adopting the Right's value system just pushes them off the deep end because they wil always always always find a way to be to the right of Pres. O.

3. That's exactly our problem for 18 years.
Democrats go right.
Republicans go righter.
Repeat ad infinitum.

7. We're not the sharpest knives in the drawer, are we?
Change usually takes longer than "I want it yesterday!"
