One Reason To Vote for the President
One of the responses I read in regard to "another cave by the President to the GOP and corporations."

What is he doing? He *won.* Those of us who voted for him
still exist. A few things matter to me, politically, above
others. I wanted us out of combat, I wanted us to restore our
own privacy, I wanted us to ditch the creepy and illegal
prisons, rise above torture, and for God's sake, protect the
environment. WTH, Obama? My only reason to vote for you now
appears to be that the other guys are scarier."

2. That's Right
It's becoming a lesser of twp evils story. The jobs speech will pretty much seal the deal unless he goes big.

I am feeling that we're going through a period of having no president at all. The most powerful position in the world, and he's missing.

5. You didn't know that Obama was center left? That's not Obama's fault.
I know that centrist is a dirty word in the leftosphere, but we, as a party didn't choose Kucinich, or even Edwards who were clearly much more appealing to the liberal base, and there's good reason for that. ;) I got exactly what was advertised, a center left president, whose life's work has been devoted to bringing opposing sides together. Remember his "no blue states, no red states" speech? He really meant that. Your interpretation, or misinterpretation as it were, is not the president's fault. It's who he is. :hi:

11. Center left?

Not even close. And *I* believed him when he said he'd close Gitmo and stop torture. *I* believed him when he said he'd fight for Main Street instead of Wall Street. *I* believed him when he said he'd end the Bush tax cuts. *I* believed him when he said "we'll change Virginia, we'll change America, and we'll change the world". There hasn't been any fucking change.

The ONLY reasons I'll vote for him (if, in fact, I DO vote for him) will be the Supreme Court and that he's not batshit crazy like the repukes.

OBAMA 2012 - At Least He's Not Batshit Crazy

:woohoo:

16. See Congress about Gitmo. Where was he supposed to put 'em? In your garage?
Did he give you a date for ending the "Bush tax cuts"? If so, can you share it with the rest of us, or are you sworn to secrecy? Ask the long term unemployed if they gave a shit about "tax cuts" when their UE benefits were on the chopping block?

As for your gratuitous hyperbole; "There hasn't been any fucking change". I'll leave that to you and your conscience, if you have one. I won't bother you with the list of legislative accomplishments of the administration. But if you'll look around, I'm sure the list is still here.

You have a good day, ya hear?

25. He's not a centrist in result
A centrist would not sell out every core principal of his party and hand it over to the other side every single time. Gimme a break. Even the Affordable Health Act was a give over to corporate interests, and that was with the Democrat party in power.

We should have realized he was eleven-dimensional chessing us and had no intentions of keeping them.

7. You are wrong. President Obama should be cherished.
We used to have ideals and principles but that is all over now. Praise Obama for he is wonderful. Send money, volunteer and vote for him. If he turns on the unions, you turn on the unions. If he turns on the environment, you turn on the environment. When he sends bombs and bullets, cheer for the war. Keep Guantanamo open forever if that what he wishes. We need more of the Patriot Act, not less.

If you begin to question, you must stop. We love President Obama. His happiness is our goal. If your resist it will just be hard on you. Just do what the rest of us are doing and you will be much happier.

10. Resistence is futile. Just join us. You will be much happier.
You used to be bothered by having to keep up with news, watching events and determining if you agreed or disagreed. Now its so much easier. If Obama says or does it- it's right. You thought you wanted the war to end, you were just confused. You thought the environment and education were interests of ours, don't worry yourself about things like that anymore. If its important Obama will do something and if it's not, he won't. You thought that the labor movement and unions had a positive impact on our society creating a balance in the interests of the workers and investors. Could be. We'lll have to see if the president wishes for it to be so. If the unions have to be sacrificed, I'm certain that the president is taking care of everything.

For some reason you used to believe that he government was a means by which the people could organize ourselves into a body by which we could addresss and solve the problems that we face through consensus and an interest in the good of the nation. Maybe. We'll see what Obama decides. If Social Security and Medicare have to go, well as long as its Obama who does it, it will be okay.

Point is. Stop thinking so much. Be happy like the rest of us. President Obama is in the Whitehouse. That is all that is important.

23. If president wants you to have a pony, you may have a pony.
If he wants to cut its head off in front of your children that will be ok to. We will happily cheer either way. Things are wonderful.

Us starting with pro-status quo and then "compromising" to "moderate regressive" is a bunch of bullshit.

13. Yes let us choose Huntsman, Bachman, Perry, Romney, maybe even Palin.
Although I will no longer donate money, spend 300 hours on the phone bank, or knock on doors I intend to reserve the right to complain. This time I will not have a yard sign to defend. One thing I will definately not do is stand in line for 7 hours at any Presidential rally in 90 degree weather.

18. 'the other guys are scarier' is no longer good enough.
I think that one of the scary cons in the oval office would cause the Dems in congress to fight for a change.

Maybe they would take filibuster lessons from the senate cons....

24. What exactly is scarier? He is doing everything they want
Just with the veneer of democratic credibility on it! He even put a stop to air quality regulation today, approved the natural gas pipeline...In the words of Boehner, he got 98% of what he wanted when dealing with Obama! I have lost hope for this administration. I don't feel that just because we have no choice we need to support him, and either do most of the Unions now either.
It's like having a preference for Mussolini over Hitler just because you know that Hitler was worse....Mussolini did all of Hitlers bidding for him!

30. What you wanted
Has been done to some extent and is still being worked on.

You've just chosen to make your attitude as negative as possible.

And yes the others are really scarier. They intend to do the opposite of what you want.

In this photo taken Aug. 6, 2011, Texas Gov. Rick Perry prays at The Response, a call to prayer for a nation in crisis in Houston. During the prayer rally for thousands Perry read from the Bible, invoked Christ, and broadcast the whole event on the Web, without so much as a symbolic nod to other American faiths. It was a rare, full-on embrace of one religious tradition in the glare of a presidential contest. (AP Photo/David J. Phillip)
