Traitor Carville - White House "out of bounds" on speech scheduling
Disgusting.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0911/62473.html

Democratic strategist James Carville on Thursday called the White House “out of bounds” for requesting that the president address Congress during the same night as next week’s Republican presidential debate.

“I do think this is a really big debate and I think the White House was out of bounds…in trying to schedule a speech during a debate,” Carville said on “Good Morning America”.

19. Carville is the former Hart adviser who told Newsweek in '87 that Hart "can't keep his pants on."
That after Bill Clinton flunked an interview to be Hart's V.P. in '88.

Carville had worked for Hart's '84 campaign.

4. It was kind of stupid, they should have known what would happen
and all they did was reinforce the growing perception that Obama is a weak ineffective president.

Lady Antebellum and Maroon 5 will have more viewers than Obama.

6. Don't know about "out of bounds," but I certainly wonder about the staff work on this.

If the first date was a calculated risk, ???
If the first date was done without considering all factors, ??

Whatever happened, most commentators on Thursday night will include date-flap. Shot to own foot.

Ol' James may be on to something this time IMO.

9. See, *this* is why Democrats lose. Had Bill Clinton done the same thing, best believe
it would have been Carville who approved it.

He has NEVER gotten over the primaries. He needs to just shut up and sit the fuck down!

disregarded at his peril, "It;s the economy stupid". True then, true now. Shoot the messenger doesn't change the facts.

13. "A really big debate"? Since when? Since when is a sitting President
supposed to take the opposition party's nominating process under consideration when setting its agenda? Fuck off, serpenthead, you were never really a Democrat, just an opportunist.

17. Why would a DEMOCRAT consider one of umpteen freak debates "really big"--
big for whom? Why is Carville attaching such importance to this?

This showdown/beatdown should have never been played out on a national stage. Poorly handled by WH staff.

24. He's right. It was a W.H. flub to request that day/time. It's the first BIG GOP debate...
with their star Perry involved. The House has a majority of GOP...they are ALL going to watch the debate.

It's not O's fault, really. There are staffers that handle the scheduling. Staffers that apparently live in a bubble and don't know what's going on. Except for sports. I'm SURE the W.H. is aware of every major sporting event.

But the Repubicans have egg on their face, too. I heard that Boehner didn't return the Prez's call for hours. That's unheard of and extremely disrespectful to a sitting President. And to ask the Prez to reschedule sounds petty and political, when jobs are what's on the citizens' minds.

Both parties flubbed. As usual. They're all nuts up there.

30. It was stupid to schedule the speech at the same time as the GOP debate...
...and then for the White House to claim they didn't know and it was just a coincidence stretched the truth so much that no one in the press believed it.

I wouldn't say it's out of bounds, if such a strategy was effective I'd support it. Problem was, it came off looking amateurish and a clumsy attempt to be too clever by half.
