The lunatics are taking over the asylum.
Bachmann, Perry, Romney? Come on, is that the best the Republican Party has to offer? I guess it is. After all, they gave us George W. Bush. I am firmly convinced that his cronies stole the 2000 and 2004 elections. The last reasonable candidate they nominated was Bob Dole and that isn't saying much. Even John McCain was better than this crew until he brought Palin into the national picture.

What on earth is wrong with the Republican Party?

1. The local New Hampshire television station has come out with
the new catchy name for this election season. It couldn't be more appropriate: "Commitment 2012."
 :silly:

7. How does the middle class vote GOP??
This is the question. Are there so many zombies that the middle class Republicans can't see that they are being used to promote wealth in the upper echelons?

Someone needs to get the word out - Trickle-down doesn't work!!!

11. The middle class votes GOP over two issues.
Guns and abortion. They don't have a clue about economics, nor do they care to learn. That is the only explanation I have.

14. Their churches tell them they will go to hell if they vote for a pro-choice candidate.
It's that simple. They would rather starve to death than piss off their imaginary sky daddy.

9. Yes, it really is.
People constantly, CONSTANTLY forget how quickly things change in Presidential politics. Many Dems sat out the '92 race because NOBODY could beat George H. W. Bush after the crushing victory in Kuwait and Iraq. Many Dems have been saying that Bin Laden's capture/killing made Obama similarly safe.

Things move very quickly. One false move by any candidate can take him/her from frontrunner to ex-politician in a matter of a day or so. History is moving very quickly and significantly right now, and there are many unpleasant events that could be tagged to Obama or to his challengers. We just don't know.

8. I wonder given what is happening, Jeb Bush might be considering a run.
I know he said he is not running but I think he left the door open a bit to change his mind. There is no clear GOP front runner and Obama is not a shoe in due to the economic problems. Jebby and "team Bush" might just think he can win.

10. Absolutely. Otherwise, someone like George Pataki would be running
but he's not lunatic enough to qualify for the Republicans.

12. And the MSM is ready to help put a sane face on the GOP crazy:

If anyone thinks the Dems will get ANY help from the MSM to show the public how nuts the GOP and their ideologies are, they're dreaming.

13. Dole got slaughtered...
Why would you think they'd even consider nominating someone like Dole again?

Your idea of a reasonable candidate is a losing candidate from the right wing point of view.

16. I didn't say they would consider nominating someone like Dole.
My point was that the GOP has nominated idiots and lunatics for years. It did not used to be that way.
