Norquist Tells GOP To Allow Debt Limit Increase

Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist said Friday night that Republicans should let the debt ceiling go up and take their fight for spending cuts to the voters in 2012. In an interview on CNN right after Speaker John Boehner announced he was abandoning debt talks, Norquist warned against allowing a default, saying, “I assume it’s a disaster.”

“It is gambling with the economics of the country to get that far,” Norquist said. “Rather than close the government down or go into default, let’s take it to the American people, go into the next election, and fix things then.”

At a press conference a few minutes earlier, President Barack Obama had referenced Norquist’s anti-tax pledge — something most Congressional Republicans have signed — and said his offer would have complied with the pledge.

18. I'm wondering...
Is Nordquist identified as a Lobbyist?

If so, does he represent any foreign country and as such, is registered as a foreign agent?

If so, then the pledge the congressional critters signed - reference no new taxes - for Mr. Nordquist, would that not seem to indicate that they now represent a foreign country or a foreign agent?

If so, then a pledge with the deliberate goal of destroying this government or its ability to provide for the general welfare, would that not constitute treason?

15. No, he's the de facto head.
The titular head is someone who has the title but not the power. The opposite is the de facto head, who has no title but, in practice, is calling the shots.

7. Was this before or after
Obama belittled Norquist's stupid pledge? Screw you, Grover. Run for office or STFU.

Seriously, I wonder how much money Grover makes from his antiquated political action group.

Raise the debt ceiling to get us to 2013, yes or no. Period, the end.

12. It looks like the media finally stepped up to do their job regarding Nordquist
The reason we're hearing about him so much lately is that they started shining a big spotlight on him and exposing him as the guy pulling the strings.

It doesn't happen nearly as often as it should, but it's nice to see the media actually do its job.

14. They'll do anything to keep Obama from getting points with fiscally concerned independants.
Obama is offering them major cuts and they obviously didn't expect that. LOL! Now they cry uncle but how do you undo all those batshit crazy teabaggers once you get them elected?

Hint: It's not the 'working stiffs' President Obama referenced on Friday. It's the millionaires and the billionaires they fight for!

23. Coward. Now that millions of people "might" point their finger...
in his direction (most of them Seniors) for being so suddenly thrown into endless poverty, not able to pay the rent, not able to do anything, the idiot "feels" the pressure and wants a convenient way to avoid that!

Coward.
