President Obama invites Senate Democratic leaders for more debt talks
http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/168785-obama-invites-senate-democrats-to-white-house-for-more-debt-talks

President Obama has invited Senate Democratic leaders to the White House on Wednesday to discuss a deal to raise the debt ceiling.

Obama will meet with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), the chairman of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee, and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), the conference secretary, at 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to Senate Democratic source.

The invitation comes with time running out to reach a debt ceiling deal by an Aug. 2 deadline set by the Treasury Department. Obama met with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in separate meetings at the White House on Monday.

A senior administration official confirmed that Obama will be hosting the senators as he continues to negotiate with members of both parties on an agreement to raise the nation’s $14.3 trillion debt ceiling.

4. Yeah - dems negotiating amongst themselves seems like a prelude to caving into to rethugs!
I sincerely hope that it is not and that instead it is to get their message together and go against the rethugs. But I am not reassured based on history of the dems when it comes to standing strong together.

6. Well, From What I Hear From The Grapevine (MSM & Polls) Americans seem
split about raising the debt ceiling. This AM figures from some polling says 38% for and 41% against. May not be the exact numbers I heard, but the nays did have it. Sooooooooooo, given from how I've seen "O" operating, don't think much good will come of anything.

And just an added note, I try very hard not to use the word "hope" because I bought into it once and worked really really hard. Kind of lost it's meaning for me. Now that's just me, and I will say it's hard to find ways around NOT using the word. I've had to re-structure sentences many times.

Kind of sad, but mostly maudlin!

5. Well, he's neither a "Democrat" nor a "Leader" (in terms of political position not statesmanship)...
