that other disaffected voters who are disappointed with Obama will look hard at this crop of lying idiots and really think about what they are doing should they support any of these charlatans!

25. Yes, I checked DU while I was away.
I'm heartbroken about Brien's death. We used to respond to each other's messages as he was also a Hillary supporter. No one mentioned what exactly happened to him, he was only 29. Was he sick or is that info. private? Either way, it's hard not to see his cuddly bear anymore. Life sucks sometimes...........

:(

As for the trip, it was nice to see my family and Europe is beautiful (I was in Spain, France & Belgium).

Take care, my friend.

18. Bullshit. Prove that the "Obama campaign" is expected "to get millions from corporations."
Edited on Tue Jun-14-11 11:24 AM by ClarkUSA
If 2012 is anything like 2008, the vast majority of campaign contributions will be from small donors who give less than $200 apiece. In 2008, his biggest donor was the University of California aka. its employees.

That may be "sad" for Republicans and their supporters, but it's the essence of grassroots support to the rest of us. BTW, I don't have much to give, but I am still giving. That doesn't feel "sad" to me or my extended family, who are doing the same thing.

21. I have missed you Clark. What makes you think 2012 will be anything like 2008?
After the 50 state strategy helped Obama become president, he immediately turn his back on us and court big corporations. Pres Obama is expected to raise a billion dollars for his campaign. He isnt getting that kind of cash from the grassroots. He doesnt even have much of a grass roots campaign. But he doesnt need Howard Dean and the grassroots when he has big corporations. Big pharma owes him big.

31. Yes I missed you and your logic. Where is MY proof that things will be different?
Where is your proof that things will be the same? Childish, right? I would say the fact that Pres Obama, once elected, fired Howard Dean and didnt say thanks for the grassroots efforts and then turning to the corporate masters is a pretty good indication where he thinks his support is. And you apparently dont put any faith in the predictions of him raising a billion dollars. After all they are just predictions and you want proof.

36. First of all you started your original response off with "bullshit". Not a good way to start
a dialog. Then YOU claimed that "if 2012 is anything like 2008..." and I asked you why you think 2012 would be like 2008. Pres Obama is an incumbent now and has clearly distanced himself from his grassroots supporters. 2012 will not be like 2008. I cant prove it any more than YOU can prove otherwise. And it is very childish to scream "prove it". That works both ways. If you have a case, present it. Shouldnt matter if I "started it".

Again, it is expected that Pres Obama will raise 1 billion dollars in campaign contributions and not from the grassroots.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/27/president-heads-to-big-apple-for-big-bucks/

"Aides note the huge number of individual donors who gave to Obama's campaign — a record 4 million. But only 25 percent of the money came from small donors who gave $200 or less, according to the non-partisan Campaign Finance Institute in Washington.
Obama will inevitably lose many of the individual donors who backed him four years ago, said Anthony Corrado, a professor of government at Colby College and expert on campaign fundraising." from http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42415155/ns/politics-decision_2012/t/billion-dollar-obama-run-moneyed-campaign/

This stuff is all over the place.

And you claim: "I simply proffered easily Googled facts which contradicted your baseless prediction." I must have missed that post.

Enough of the red herrings; I have yet to see a shred of proof that backs you up. To tell you the truth, I hope you're right but for you to presume that corporations will be donating "millions" has no basis at this point.

That may have been the high water mark for intelligent debate in the Republican primary. Seriously. No Sarah Palin, no Rick Perry and his biblical crusades... that room represented, as scary as it sounds, a large number of the most reasonable Republican candidates.

Be afraid. Be very fucking afraid. Because these people are dangerous lunatics.
