REPORT: Senate has confirmed smaller % of Obama’s judges than any other President in history

Throughout President Obama’s first two years in office, Senate Republicans waged war on his judiciary nominees — allowing only a handful of them to be confirmed. The GOP’s obstructionism grew so bad that conservative Chief Justice John Roberts scolded the Senate for its dismal confirmation record. A new report by the Alliance for Justice shows that the GOP’s obstructionism was truly historic — the worst obstructionism any new president faced at any point in American history: ...

1. From the link:
<...>

Disturbingly, much of this obstructionism targeted women and people of color. Although Obama’s nominees are the most diverse in American history, every district court nominee with unanimous Republican opposition in the Senate Judiciary Committee was a woman or person of color.

4. Here's a link to a list of all of Obama's nominations

Court of Appeals and District Court lists here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_judges_appointed_by_Barack_Obama

President Obama HAS done a great job in nominating women as judges - it's been just about 50/50 so far.

The GOP's blocking of so many women and people of color has been disgusting, especially the 'character assassination' they did on Goodwin Liu ;(

5. This is really distrubing. And it seems to be nothing that can be done. I also blame OBama for not
making an issue of this. This is bullshit. Bush has his fingerprints all over the judicial system. The only thing Obama will have to show is Sotomayor and Kagan. I hope dems are keeping track of this. Payback should be in store when a repuke is back in.

6. Then you would be wrong.
You can NOT blame Obama for not making an issue of this because HE HAS.
Several times President Obama has stated in public that the GOP must stop the obstruction of confirming the judicial nominees.

Obama, Supreme Court Justices, Senators, and even Legal/Judicial Organizations have been hollering about the slow pace of the Senate's confirmations for over a year now.

7. don't you know that
if the media isn't talking about an issue 24/7 (the only way above poster would hear about it) it's because the president isn't making them talk about it apparently. the bully pulpit may have worked back in the days of network tv dominance, but not when a cable news outfit with 4m viewers can dictate what's important for the day. that's how fractured the viewership is.
