35. unlike this wretched choice by a previous first lady.

The color was awful on her and the jacket made her look like she had saggy breasts.

48. There should be buttons at the wrist
The correct way is to tug the hand portion off and tuck it under, thereby freeing the hands while the rest of the gloves stay on. Weird, but that's how it's done.

Don't ask me how I know.

50. I knew it too. I'm an old timer and remember when long white gloves
were 'what' you wore to a very formal occasion. Wish I still had mine. Wore then once and, yes, you are supposed to unbutton then and tuck the forward section of the glove inside. Wonder what Michelle did?
She looks stunning in these photo's.

23. In my opinion Michelle's style is hit or miss, but when she hits it, she
really, really hits it! Wow! What a stunning gown, and it looks perfectly gorgeous on her.

When Michelle wears something like this, she never looks as though the garment is wearing her, which is what unfortunately happens with some women when they wear a particularly glamorous gown.

Michelle has a statuesque quality--she is tall and in great physical shape, and she has excellent posture.

She looks elegant and graceful. Absolutely stunning.

24. His grin is so disarming
I wonder which is tickling him more - the fact that he's at Buckingham Palace or the fact that he is married to the incredible sister in the goddess dress . . .

I just love that, no matter how tough, grueling, draining and often thankless his job is, he is still always capable of busting out that amazing, open grin. But I shouldn't be surprised - he's always been capable of demonstrating sheer, unabashed joy;

and my personal favorite:

Damn, they make me proud!

30. The Queen is tiny, isn't she? I didn't realize how short she and Prince Phillip are.
Obama and Michelle look like giants standing next to them! I always thought Prince Phillip was tall, but I guess that's because he looks tall, standing next to the Queen.

That's one of my favorite dresses I've seen Michelle in.

36. The queen is said to be 5'4", but I'm guessing at her age ...
her stature is probably closer to 5'2 1/2." Phillip has lost considerable height in the last decade or so.

Michelle tops 5'10" doesn't she?

39. Do you think this young couple could have envisioned this photo?
Michelle Obama in 1996 telling an interviewer that "There is a strong possibility that Barack will pursue a political career, although it’s unclear. There is a little tension with that. I’m very wary of politics. I think he’s too much of a good guy for the kind of brutality, the skepticism."

"The menu, printed in French on dainty white cards, included sole, Windsor lamb with basil, green bean panache and Charlotte a la Vanille for dessert. Wines include Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2004 and Royal Vintage Port from 1963."
